Stupid mechanics and too easy
The game seems promising at first but the game falls apart in many aspects. The fighting focuses on parrying alot against many enemies. Parrying itself is not really that hard. You have to parry from the correct direction. Above, below or one of the sides and an arrow tells you which direction is the correct one for pretty much every attack. The arrow will only appear though, if you have equipped the right implant and since parrying is a basic mechanic against most enemies one of your implants slots is set from the start. Anyway, you can spam the parry move so often that timing is almost irrelevant. A missed parry takes only a fraction of a second and doesnt cost much stamina. Additionaly, the stamina regenerates extremely fast. So you spam the parry and make the character goof around like he is on a rave when it should look like hes fighting in a post apocalyptic world. But thats not the main problem with the fighting. In addition to your health and stamina, you got another bar for energy. Some implants can you energy to active additional abilities. I didn't rly bother to test much out since you get the perfect pair of impants very early in the game. Basically you can exchange energy for health potions. And at a ridiculous pace Everything you need to do that is in the first hour of the game. The first small boss drops a weapon that generates more energy than any other weapon i've found in the game. And other implants get you energy when you get hit. At the end of the day, the fighting consists of constantly exchanging energy for health potions and dying becomes almost impossible against many enemies. Learning the game isn't rly smth you need anymore at this point. Oh, and the graphics arent bad but somehow look a little worse than Surge 1. But the main critique i got is the easy difficulty, the parry spam and the infinite amount of health potions.
