The game does right by the original, and for that alone it deserves the highest praise already. Yods be silent! <3

Beautiful game
I've been playing this now a bit over 10 hours and so far my only problem is with the parkouring. Parkouring is a key element of the game and you need to do it to solve puzzles. In many cases you need to follow light paths and you have limited time to do this. The problem is, that the light paths can suddenly disappear so even though you know where to go next you can't progress in the path. Usually the light paths work again when you restart the trial, so this is not a show stopper but it does make playing less fun. I hope this gets fixed in the future updates. Otherwise the game is excellent in many ways. The visuals are really good and there is no lagging of any kind. I'm playing with maximum settings (RTX 3080 TI, 4K@165Hz). As many have said the jetpack and wingsuit are really well done and the feeling is great when you descend from high places. The story has been entertaining so far and the characters are good. Will be interesting to see how it all ends.

excellent sequel
This game is great! Well worth the 25 year wait! Though hopefully we won't have to wait another 25 years for #3... The intro is a bit clunky but don't let that discourage you, once you get into the open world it's one of the best games I've ever played, can't wait to get back to it!

It is 80's movie
So... This game is like 80's action movies. You know they have bad plot, nod good acting but... Agter long they at work there is no better way to have mindles and fun relax! Same in this game. Plot is not good, but men! Those onliners, this pure action, this nice exploring! I live such games, they do not try to be something more and just give you fun.

A beautiful, strange world full of fun
After five hours ingame I really can't understand the sometimes pretty harsh critics the game got. Yet I have to admit that I myself was very reluctant at first: what I saw from the game just didn't feel to me like Outcast, and the demo was pretty bad and gave a wrong impression. With a bit of shop credit and 50% off I still gave it a chance without expecting much - and boy am I glad I did! The open world is magnificent, feels alive and natural, the imaginative alien fauna and flora are a delight to behold, there are beautiful landscapes and sights everywhere. The story may not be something groundbreaking, sure, but it's told very effective and feels meaningful. They built upon the basis of Outcast both with reference and with new ideas for the original lore and scenario. This game's strongpoint definitely is world building and while the game's wide open world isn't as choke full with quests and activities as, say, Witcher 3, it's just such a carefree pleasure to roam around I don't notice it. Movement can either be done by foot or by the jetpack. Now while I had my doubts about this contraption after playing the demo, the game introduces it step by step: you be able to upgrade it slowly, so you'll learn to use it properly. The jetpack is in fact a brillant thing because it adds a grandiose feeling of verticality to the game and opens new perspectives on the world. Combat is solid and fast, controls work as they should and it's fun to blow up enemy bases. The soundtrack is another highlight I can't get enough of. There are many motives of the fantastic soundtrack of the original Outcast in there, but also many new ideas and clever interpretations. Overall I'm very much enjoying this game. It feels like a holiday trip to a strange and beautiful world. Gameplay is easy to get into, so it's quite a relaxing experience and as such exactly what I often crave for. Definitely recommendable and a worthy, if different successor to one of the greatest games of all times.
