Repetitive gameplay, uninspired writing

You control a hole that grows as things and people fall into it, and you try to swallow everything in view. That's it. While there are a few "puzzles" (using things inside the hole to manipulate the environment) they are somewhat simplistic and can't distract from the fact that all levels are pretty much the same -go for the smaller things until you can get a building. To distract the player from the repetitive nature of the game there are cutscenes between levels, but the bland writing means they quickly become boring and apparently can't be skipped. After each level, you watch your latest victim fall into the hole; this would be a good time to read something funny about their plight but instead you are (optionally) treated to more bland writing about the literal trash you just caught -because raccoons love trash and you are a raccoon, get it? Your victims are mostly oblivious about you; they might follow you with their eyes and maybe try to stay away from your path, but seem to be resigned to their fate and don't make a fuss as they fall into the mysterious bottomless hole. PROS: Looks pretty and the concept of "devouring" everything is cool. CONS: Gameplay grows old almost immediately, and the bland writing means the character's plight, which might have made you care about what happens to them, turns you off instead. Despite their protestations during the cutscenes their actual behaviour during the levels hints they don't care neither. BEFORE BUYING watch the first few minutes of a playthrough, I wish I did. While the trailer depicts the game accurately, it doesn't show how much of a chore it is in actual gameplay.

Fun little toy

I bought this game for the art style. Don't expect a clever puzzler that will test your mettle. Expect an experience where you dump things into holes. Many of the gags are just hilarious, silly, and absurd. It's like an interactive film filled with crazy animals.

A short, sweet and humorous game

This game reminds me of Portal; it's short, it's comedic and it's centred around a singular physics mechanic. Where it differs is the personality shown through the art style, the dramatically simpler gameplay and a thematically light tone to it's story and comedy. This is a great little game to unwind with as the levels/puzzles are all very straightforward yet very gratifying to complete. The story and art style is very cute and accessible for those wanting to share the experience with relatives who don't game or children just beginning to get into it. It is overall a superbly written and designed game, it is short and the replay value is very dependant on the player but you won't regret playing through it to experience the story, art style and it's wonderful characters.
