Great technique, little plot

Whether you like this game or not depends on what you expect from a game. The graphics are spectacular and, on PC, I honestly didn't suffer from any major bug. If you like a tourist simulator in a dystopian city of the future, it's perfect. If you are looking for a story to live, as rich and multifaceted as in the witcher saga, you will probably be as disappointed as I am. The length of the main story is - in my opinion - absolutely inadequate for such a title. And the secondary missions, with very few exceptions, are of the "go there and get that / kill that other" type, with no plot connection. In the end, it is a true open world, without those tricks that had allowed TW3 to overcome the limits of that kind of game that I personally appreciate less and less.

Great Game but needs bugs ironed out.

As the title says the game is great. Since the release day I could not get enough of the game. Now let's get this out at the start, yes the game has more than a few bugs. But personally from my 40 hour play through I have not had any crashes, only minor glitches that a quick reload promptly solved. Yes the game could have had better optimisation and a better control scheme but personally it did not effect me that much in on my GTX 1660 TI max-Q laptop graphics card. Yeah I could not play the game at 60 fps (mostly drove at 30fps) but the story was so engaging that I did not mind at all. As for the story of the game I cannot get tired of saying how great it is. I haven't been so moved by a story since the Mass Effect Trilogy(minus the ending). Since the beginning the story is engaging and keeps you fixed to you chair waiting for what's next. Now the side quests are a bit of a mixed bag. There are loads of gigs of quests that one can see on the minimap which are the usual fetch quest, which are great for level farming and making some quick cash. Then there are the side quests which affect the main story and are usually tiered and very engaging. The latter side quests tend to offer an insight on the history of the characters that you encounter in the main quest. Now the combat was really great, the gunplay felt just right with ricochetting bullets, tech bullets which pass through walls, hacking, cucumber chopping hands and Rocky fist fighting. Could not get enough of the combat. You need to keep in mind that enemies do not scale with you though. I really do not know what else I could say except that I really enjoyed this game very much and after I finish this I will go ahead and start my second playthrough as a corpo.

Polish Game Needs Polishing

I'll list the things that can't be patched: (1) This is a shooter with extended cinematics and character customization, not an RPG. (2) You get skills with +1% to your damage, +2% to your armor, and +3% chance to cause bleeding -- the game is totally overburdened with such stuff. (3) Literally tons of items which you sell or deassamble into components. (4) Loot is mostly random and scales with your level. (5) Sex in cigarette smoke, regardles the character smokes or not outside of sex-scene. (a nonsmoker would vomit their lungs in real life, instead of reaching climax) (6) NO NET RUNNING! Regardless of your specialization. Instead, you just need to solve number puzzles. (7) Gangsta gangs and gansta rap from GTA. Completely unfit for the Cyberpunk setting. (8) Enemies in the next room are scripted not to hear you murdering their friends. Locked hotel 'dungeon' is the apogee of this deafness. (9) Occasionally illogical story progression. Everything else is AWESOME (or patchable), including the invention of the freak Johnny! P.S. Play in English, or you'll certainly miss much.

Nice story and location but mediocre

the game could be much better if they didn't cut a lot, monowire is totaly useless it could have been something amazing for the netrunner build... the character builds are almost meaningless they play similar, the crafting is annoying (waiting to craft 1 at the time? are you kidding me?), the gunplay is ok, the driving is very bad with the minimap zoomed too in so you slide left and right because you don't see when to turn, the police spawns behind you (ridicolous), the AI is no I you can cheese it as you please, the controlls on PC look like if CDPR never made a game before... And the BUGS, wow the bugs... "when it's ready" they said, i hope they add all the features back with FREE DLCs... I'm so disappointed, and i regret preordering this and being hyped for lies

Could be amazing, in another year.

I've been looking forward to Cyberpunk for a couple years. I played all 3 Witcher games. I thought Witcher 2/3 were triple A titles worthy of RPG of the year. I have immense respect for CDPR. But this is NOT a finished game. I played it for a few hours then I was like, "Nuh uh. No. NO. Not doing this." This is early access IMO. Maybe beta. Quick recap, without spoilers. Character creation felt simplistic and lifeless. It felt incomplete. The appearance customization options were limited. There was only one male voice and one female voice. I got into the game and the story started immediately with a mission. I step outside and a bunch of trees in the distance LUNGE FORWARD THROUGH SPACE AND TIME AND SLAP ME IN THE FACE AND THEN DISAPPEAR... but I can still see the trees through a building, some fenches, a car, some other cars... it's just super weird and immersion-annihilating. I get over the creepy trees and start the mission. The mission didn't go as planned, but the way things ended up it felt totally, "thrown together." The plot of that first mission felt as poorly written as this review. Almost lazy. I was like, "Um... Whaaaaat? What's going on? Why??" Then this weird, brief video montage got thrown at me that is probably supposed to... build up the story's key relationships or something. I got it but it felt so sloppy. Then I start a couple more missions but the bugs, hot damn. Like, something keeps bumping into me but it's invisible. There are highlighted objects that I can't pick up even though I should be able to pick them up. Cars appear out of nowhere. Textures pop in all over the place. People turn into vaguely human shaped black blobs of polygons, or their faces disappear. Cops appear out of nowhere and kill me and I don't even know what I did wrong. All this in 5 hours. I will not play this game for at least a couple of more patches, but it DOES deserve a chance. It could be amazing. RIGHT NOW it sucks. Bad.
