Wait

Radeon 5 3600, RX 5700XT, 16 gb ram, nvme drive I would definitely wait to let the developers work on this a bit. You will love it if you are looking forward to it. I was not looking forward to this game at all, but wanted something new and shiny to play. I am enjoying it a lot. There are a lot of bugs, but they do not bother me. If you are going to be bothered by bugs/glitches then definitely wait. I used the recommended 1440p settings from Digital Foundry and am running at 60fps and up. Hopefully things will calm down as the console ports get sorted out. I have not found things immersion breaking, but that is personal taste. I am actually intrigued with the experience. Thirty five hours in and I have had a few crashes. Luckily, I have lost very little to no progress on crashes. Most of what I am experiencing is collision detection, physics, and audio bugs. Nothing has prevented progress for me. I wish everyone could enjoy this because it is pretty cool. Hopefully all gamers can enjoy this properly sooner than later.

Disappointing

I have reached more than 25 hours in the game and I have just found a terrible glitch. The game is good, although it needs a lot of work in terms of optimization. The story is attractive and some of the characters have a nice personality. The city is huge and there many places to visit. In terms of graphics is a next generation game, so perhaps you need to update your PC hardware, it's unnplayable with a GTX 1060 or something less than that. My PC is not a really powerful one, but with some low expectations, and specs, the game is playable. The main issues are the lack of optimization in the graphics. You can move the parametres from high to low and can't see any improvement in the frame rate. I can run the game between 57 to 68 fps, in low quality and in 2560 x 1080 resolution, my monitor is 3440 x 1440 and 75 hz. I haven't found any catastrophic bugs or glitches, my only concern is about optimization. Hopefully CDPR will fix this situation in future patches. In the state in which the games is working today it is hard to recommed it.

One of the best

This is one of the best games I've played, the storytelling is very immersive and the soundtrack helps too. Yes, there are some things that need polish but overall I am very satisfied. Didn't experience any game breaking bugs apart from some things floating around here and there.

Flawed Gem

We will start with the bad. The game doesn't have all the promised features, nor is it well polished. That being said, I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs or crashes in my ~36 hours, it's only been weird technical stuff. T-posing npc's, jumbled dialogue, missing sound effects, etc. The driving is somewhat rough but you get used to it pretty quick and there is fun in sliding around corners on a bike. The meh. The linear nature of the story is something I don't personally begrudge, as the story they tell is one I really enjoyed and I don't think most people appreciate how insanely difficult it is to make games as open ended as people want them to be but this will be an issue for some people. Your starting lifestyle will add flavor to your playthrough but will not be defining of it. The combat mechanics are also good but nothing special. It's great fun to be sure, especially with the ability to use augments and quick-hacks but it isn't revolutionary (I put this point here only because people really seemed to believe it would be something altogether unique) and now the good. While such flaws should be taken into account, I feel that the game is really something beautiful all the same. It oozes atmosphere, the characters are interesting and painfully human, the dystopia feels crushing and miserable, the music (both as a sound effect and that found on radios) is phenomenal, and the voice actors all have great delivery. Night city is alive and repugnant, just as it should be. I loved occasionally just walking through the streets and taking it in, or sitting at a bar and seeing what people were up to, I loved doing missions and chatting on the phone with the various characters. There's so much soul to this game that I fear many will overlook due to the negative aspects. At worst, I would say wait a short while until some issues are patched out but please don't dismiss this game outright, it really is an immersive and compelling tale of the dystopia to come.
