Alien Breed Trilogy

I've had a lot of fun with this one. It's a very simple shooter. It has good sound design, an atmosphere of isolation, and a stereotypical yet very good antagonist who constantly taunts you throughout your traversal. It delivers exactly on what it's supposed to and doesn't pretend to be anything more. It's a really, really good game. If you want a regular shooter experience play it on veteran difficulty. If you want a survival horror experience play Elite. Both difficulties are fairly balanced towards challenge, and the hardest difficulty is challenging but not cheap, and it's balanced towards managing your resources and scraping by just enough to finish the whole trilogy. It's a 5 star for those who look for a very focused, space survival horror experience that mimics aliens and even dead space in some parts.

Nachdem ich alle drei Teile einmal durch gespielt habe und zu jedem Teil auch schon einen kurzen Kommentar abgegeben habe möchte ich hier nun zusammenfassend kommentieren. Ich habe 3 von fünf Sternen vergeben, gespielt habe ich das ganze auf einem Laptop mit Maus und Tastatur. Abzug gab es für die Fehlende Deutschsprachige Vertonung dadurch geht viel von der Spielatmosphäre verloren. Die hackelige und ungenaue Steuerung des Spiel, mein Gamepad konnte ich nicht dazu bringen auch mal die Waffen zu benutzen (wireless gamepad F710). Bei den einzelnen Endgegnern/Boss-Kämpfen, gibt es keine Rückmeldung ob die Angriffe wirken,da kommt ein wenig Frust auf. Beim 3. Teil wurde etwas mit den Effekten übertrieben, so das man seine Gegner nicht richtig sehen konnte. Die Grafik des Spiel finde ich wirklich gut, da gibt es nichts zu kritisieren. Alle 3 Teile begeistern mich und ich kann sie nur weiterempfehlen. Auf dem Youtubekanal Spieleflut wurden alle 3 Teile von Alien Breed gespielt wie ich finde sehenswerte kleine Videos dort bekommt man einen guten Eindruck von den Spielen.

In the UK in the 1990s, one of the most popular subgenres of shooter game was the Top-Down style: inspired by Gauntlet, this subgenre had players control their characters from an overhead view and kill anything that moves as they make it to the next area. The series that popularised this was Alien Breed, and in 2009 and 2010, Team17 returned to this franchise for a really strong modernisation for digital distribution services like Xbox Live Arcade and Steam. The Alien Breed Trilogy is a gamer's game: You. Challenging difficulty. Tons of enemies. And a goal you must accomplish by killing said enemies. The controls feel tight and responsive, with the mouse and keyboard working great with the isolated view and the movement feeling tight. The weapons you get your hands on are also really good; with a powerful shotgun and flamethrower being the highlights of the lot. And the enemies are varied, enjoyable to fight, and instantly recognisable thanks to their distinctive bodies, meaning you'll have no difficulty identifying a Medic or a Mauler. Oh, and there's a story too. It's nothing special, just an excuse for you to venture forth and blast aliens, but it gets the job done and the voice acting is pretty competent. Overall, whenever it goes on sale, I recommend giving The Alien Breed Trilogy a go. It's a fun, addictive series of shooters with a good atmosphere and twitch gameplay. Really, the main fault is that the game sometimes crashes and you have to do everything in your power to get it to work. Otherwise, it's a good time. Now if only Team17 remastered the original trilogy of Alien Breed, The Horror Continues and Tower Assault...

The games are slight variations, not evolutions of the formula. I became extremely bored after a few hours. I would rather recommend Shadowgrounds over this.

It's as bad as it can be. You'll be running between terminals to open doors and killing bugs in between. That's literally it and nothing more these games consist of. Poor, worthless and SAME in all 3 games weapons upgrade system. CONSTANT screen shaking (playing with configs did not worked for me). Poor story, almost nonexistent. This is how lack of ideas looks like. Please, avoid this - save your time.
