squid830: Especially if most of the content is pretty much the same, with only a handful of quests added/removed - even more so if it means some clans get additional quests while others just miss out (which is how Bloodlines was originally if I'm not mistaken).

wesp5: Some interesting background info on this, when I restored the CD quest that was Nosferatu only in the original game, I noticed that the Malkavian answers were already there so at one point this quest had been available to all clans! I would guess that rather by accident Troika became aware that Nosferatu can't do some quest due to their looks, so they took this quest to balance that out. As I found another way for Nosferatu to do the Vandal quest by sending Patty instead of Danielle, restoring this seemed only logical...
That makes sense - they were obviously under time pressure, given all the other stuff that was cut, not to mention all the bugs. It's still a weak way to "fix" things, since everyone could find the CD anyway (and therefore get confused as to what to do with it). Makes one think that they didn't really plan things that well.

It would have made more logical sense for them to make the Schrecknet quest Nossie-only - whenever I do that as a non-Nossie I get the impression I'm being let into "secret Nossie business". That said, it's one of the more interesting and involved quests, so not being able to do it as the other clans would have sucked - unless every other clan then got clan-specific quests (which they didn't plan for that time - but it's what I'm thinking could be in store this time around?).

That's what I think. It seems most RPGs I've played do this - you join some group and, once that happens, there are unique tasks that can be done with each group having it's own set of unique tasks. It greatly enhances replayability. I mean, in the BL1 example, why bother playing other clans (with the exception of the unique two - Nossie and Malk) if they are exactly alike except for the way the character looks and a few text differences? That's why I played Nossie more then any others (although I did try them all just to see for myself). Some, like Brujah and Ventrue I very rarely repeated. BL1 had enough change for replayability but, just barely.

So far I've played through the game multiple times as a Malk - because they are hilarious - a few times as a Ventrue, and a fair few as a Tremere (mainly due to the different hideout, also Thaumaturgy is cool). I need to definitely play through as a Nossie at least once, plus try some of the others since there are definitely disciplines I have never tried.

I guess the main reason is basically what you describe - most of the quests are exactly the same, so the only variation would be disciplines and possibly stats. While the length of BL is decent, when combined with the fact that I'd be repeating almost all of it every time, it never makes me want to replay it immediately after completing it - I always need a decent break in-between, so that I can at least partially forget some of the details. Unlike Age of Decadence, where I replayed that multiple times in a row from the day I got it.

I have no idea what you mean with CD but it does not matter because now I can just play Bloodlines again.

Bertrum gives a quest to find a CD in the sewers that he lost. It's was likely only for Nossies to make up for the quests they can't do like get a hooker for Romero.

Yeah, you could fight or deliver a hooker. I presume a Nossie couldn't get him a hooker so the only option they'd have is the fight.

Also, the "find the CD" quest is literally a delivery quest (or a find and deliver quest anyway).

There are other things Nossies (originally) couldn't do in the standard version, such as getting a "replacement" for Lilly. This is now possible, though only using the plus version IIRC.

There's a third option if you are pretty enough (or maybe he says no when you explain the details - a bit foggy here).

Oh yeah, totally forgot about that one! He definitely doesn't say no... ;)

Naturally, Nossies will never be pretty enough for this...

I play Nossie more then anything else but, I don't remember if there's even a line for them. If so, the Romero reply is likely a good one.

CAN WE LEAVE POLITICS OUT OF GAMES?? Why the feck would any dev ever do this? No SJW's play this game. Yall just shooting yourself in the foot, but thats none of my business...

Jemkatkitty: ...
All politics aside, everyone plays this game.
Let's leave the left right paradigm behind. It's nothing but a divide and conquer control mech. anyway. I'll play based on the game. I'm more concerned that it seems this is their first big project. I just hope it comes in good.

The only politics relative to a game such as this is vampire politics. I agree; socialist/capitalist dogma has no place in it.
Just read the article. Politics in a game in of itself is not bad but it has to be in game politics, in this case the only politics should be vampire the masquerade politics. With vampire clans and sects battleing eachother, each having its positives and negatives to give the player choice in how to tackle the situations. Bringing in real world politics is just a flat out bad idea and the larger companies never seem to learn. Paradox has been putting its head up its ass a little as there is a disconnect between paradox and the fans as seen with the imperator rome controversy where paradox does not understand the problmes of imperator rome.
