s_phipps: Confirmation on if the circle of 8 modpacks works with the gog version on 64 bit windows 7?
See above :P
Alternate ModDB mirror for the Co8 TOEE mod . For people like me who can't seem to get access to the Co8 forums.

I'm about to install it on Win7 x64, so I'll tell you all how it went when I'm done.

Edit: And it works! It's just like Chautemoc said. When you go into the frontloader and activate the mod, It'll hang and the window will show as nonresponsive for a couple of minutes. Just wait a bit and it'll eventually finish up.

Think you meant this link. Probably a faster download too -- that's where I got it from..didn't take long.

Glad I helped. :)

I've been staring at all these versions for the last few minutes. Is it a foregone conclusion that the latest is greatest, or is there a particular version that's better than the others?

The latest one I assume.

Derp. Yeah, that's what I meant. I went ahead and fixed my link, so thanks for the heads up. :P
Latest is the greatest ;) At least for now.

Some versions include mods that later versions do not anymore include or include again. Particularly some quest mods are no longer in the latest version.

Always get the NC version ^^
For anybody who installed the Co8 modpack: do you know if looting doesn't work or similar? I don't have the GOG version, but from what I can tell, based on the virustotal md5 hash in that other trojan thread, is that GOG's ToEE.exe seems to be the same as an old NoCD crack for v3 of the game (coincidence?) - but as mentioned, the Co8 modpack requires v2 of the game because of that issue above which was fixed separately.

If we installed Atari patch v2, I'm guessing that might leave us with a DRM'd executable. But if we just install the Co8 modpack over v3, then it seems likely that problems are going to crop up somewhere.

I guess we will find out soon enough. Hopefully some are burning it up tonight and can give feedback.
After you install the modpack, do you have to run the game from the launcher and activate the Co8 thing? Because I tried doing that and it messed up my installation.

Hm, I guess the issue is there then.

Anyway, it won't let you install patch 2, so there might be no way around it.

You have to activate it. Didn't mess up my install. It's supposed to hang, if that's what you mean.

It might be possible. I used procmon and googled the uninstall GUID the patch was looking for in the registry. Here's a post detailing a workaround: http://www.co8.org/forum/showpost.php?p=13774&postcount=7

Still, I have no idea if the patch would replace ToEE.exe with a DRM'd version 2 of it - not that I'd just expect v3 to be OK either.

Ah, good find, thanks. I won't be playing the game for a long while, but do let us know if you try this.
Sure, but I don't know if I'll get the GOG version any time soon. I didn't notice it before (sticky blindness), but there might be some future updates here: http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8513

I really love ToEE, although i have yet to play with all the new additions from Co8 so I'm looking forward to that :) I was watching this games development for a long time, and would have bought it on day one except i heard about the bug that erased your entire hard drive lol, but when i did get it i finished it in one sitting, didn't sleep and played for 2 days straight :)

thanks for posting those links for the Co8 downloads, been a few years since i went back to this gem but i think that gog has given me a sign :)
