Look forward to more input on this. The reviews of the GoG version so far are conflicting, but if it really is a good port I'll buy it asap!

I'd be playing on Windows 8.1 if it makes any difference...

catpower1980: At the beginning when I was using the X360 controller, yeah but I think that was some kind of miscalibarion because the enemies/npc were moving at normal pace. To be sure, I relaunched the game with keyboard+mouse and it was working normally (apart from the default walk)

PepsiDude002: What settings and resolution is this at? I'm surprised a 720 can run this considering I had more powerful GPUs that struggled even on low settings
1080p, v-sync, AA and anisatropic on. I'm eating right now but I'll see if I can stream the game tonight so It will "prove" that it works :o) (but I've git to re-install obs, configure it, etc. so it might take a while as I'm not tech savvy ^o^)

Haha no worries m8, we believe you so its up to you to stream or not :)

I'm downloading my steam copy to see how well it works (Intel i7, r9 280x and 8GB ram). I'm tempted to buy it again this week once I see more benchmarks and such.

I'm sorta with you here. I want to see a lot of feedback and stuff...
I'm also interested in knowing wether or not the game is functional this time around.
The game is dirt cheap right now but I would hate to have a barely functional game in my library.
Has anyone tested the framerate of GOG's SR2? I've read that the Steam version had a lot of issues with slowdown and low framerates.
, I'm currently streaming the game 720windowed and encoded at 480p 1000kbps:

Saints Row 2 runs with up to 30fps on my PC :(
i5-4670 3,4GHz
gtx 770
8GB Ram

/edit
Saints Row 3 runs with 80-100fps

Unfortunately, 30 FPS would be absolutely optimal, because otherwise animations and positioning in cutscenes break. There might be other issues with higher frame rates, like content streaming or physics like in GTA games.

I just tried it on my setup (280x, i7 2600k 4.5ghz OC, 8GB ram) and I got 30-50fps maxed out 1080p. Strangest thing is that it only used 300mb of VRAM so the game looked really bad, especially hair and face details which look really bugged. I only got 40% of GPU usage too.

For comparison, I get 70-90fps in Saints Row IV maxed out at 1080p

Nice!
OK, stream finished, here is the saved video. I didn't memorize the controls and I was switching between gamepad (for cars) and keyboard (on foot), coupled with my subpar reflexes, it's cringing to watch :o)

Default walk speed is troublesome in combat so I have to use the "aim" stance or use the "slow walk" button. In free roaming, default walk is fine.

EDIT: oh yeah also : after many hours on all the GTA, SR3&4 and other sandboxes games, it's painful that the gamepads triggers aren't taken into account to properly accelerate so that's why the driving is jerky as I push the button like if I was using a keyboard.

I too came here just to find this out. Good to hear it is an improvement on the steam one! That thing is so borked that it is actually less powerful computers that run it better because they are closer to 360 specs. Absolute sham job of a port. If GOG actually have it running properly the developers should just give them all the money out of shame at releasing the game they did years ago.:P

Cross referencing with my PS3 copy, this definitely seems sped up. Not as much as I used to experience with the Steam version, but sped up nonetheless. What OS are you running?
