Utter bullsh*t.

"The multiplayer element of NEXT is not yet included in the DRM-free edition of the game. Read more about the delay below:

"From launch, the DRM-free edition of No Man's Sky will include all single-player content introduced by NEXT: third-person mode, upgraded visuals, better base building, player customization, and more.
However the multiplayer component will not be ready at launch; we expect it to be released later this year as full multiplayer parity remains in the pipeline. "

In the pipeline? So probably never.

I just stopped the update/download. Why bother if I am only getting part of the game?

I want a free steam key for that multiplayer thing... not only that I can't play with my Steam friends, I also must wait months longer, but I paid also 60€ at release...

Well,
no Problem with that tbh when they deliver a good Multiplayer Connection

I'll believe they're working on multiplayer when I see it. Given that we never got multiplayer for Atlas Rises, I'm going to assume we won't get it for NEXT either. Also, the post heavily implies that even if we do get multiplayer, we better not have friends playing on Steam.

Not for me and not 2 years ago.
okay, this is pretty shit. should have get my refund day one LOL
This is a farce. I hope they will refund my game.

Either way - I'm outta here, no more money from me, GOG.
I am really sad that I was right :(

Well, time to request refunds, because you are clearly and statistically never going to get multiplayer GOG customers.

RIP GOG. never trust your service again sadly.

GOG's official statement.

Quick summary: GOG Customers do not deserve a full game just lies and false promises.

RIP.
how the fuc can you release the NEXT patch with no MP support ??? boggle to the Nth degree!

have had plenty of notice it was coming and really it should allow steam crossplay too
i just hope gog and steam multiplayer will work together in the end. I won't buy another copy of No Man's Sky for steam too. LOL
If you search for the advertisment of this update it clearly says PC will receive the multiplayer update, not just Steam. Then we just now find out about GoG today. I just emailed GoG to refund me. I am livid. Their prompt attention with this refund will dictate my future GoG patronage.

So the developers of a game decide to postpone the multiplayer feature on the GOG version of the game, and this is GOG's fault, how?

boomschakalacka: So the developers of a game decide to postpone the multiplayer feature on the GOG version of the game, and this is GOG's fault, how?
Because not only do the developers refuse to update the game with all the content provided on every other platform, but it is now a trend that they are just liars regarding this platform and the PC platform in general.

The game is officially broken by the developer itself, not a full-game in this platform. It was sold as a multiplayer game origonaly and many received their refunds then, now it has become clear GOG's version will not become a multiplayer game as it's counterparts. As it is a multiplayer game on every other platform.

Lies and deception only sustain a company so far my friend.

Take a note of the GOG refund policy:

"IS IT AVAILABLE FOR EVERY GAME?

Yes. The Money Back Guarantee applies to all games available on GOG.com. Please note that Gwent purchases are considered "Virtual Goods" and as such are considered final and non-refundable."

If you bought this game, GET YOUR REFUND IMMEDIATELY!

Multiplayer is avaliable and was always marketed as the intention of this game wrongly or not on every other platform. You paid good money. Get your refund asap.

Refunds are technically available for games you've only had 30 days or less. I requested one anyway.

deathjet: Personally, I use GoG because I play offline and don't want DRM BS. I doubt I am alone, since that was a major part of GoG's founding audience.

JClosed: Completely agree here. And to be clear - I bought NMS to play solo and not for multiplayer. I keep buying my games on GOG, because I simply want my games to be DRM free. I rather really own my games, than be dependent on a third party client with build-in DRM like the one from Steam.
At least there are some reasonable people among this complaining angry mob. Agree with you. I can understand the outrage, but moving to steam will never be an option for me.
