As we already know, Hello Games provided no Multiplay support for GOG users in the Atlas Rises Update.

Eg: "Joint exploration has been introduced allowing 16 players to see visual representations of each other in game. Joint exploration does not require PS Plus, and is not currently available on GOG Galaxy."

https://www.nomanssky.com/atlas-rises-update/

Now with this extended delay for the most recent patch targeted exclusively at GOG customers and certain games sites already pretending we have access to the update.. Cough*pcgamer*cough(They edited their article after the comment section thrashed them for the mistake).

Eg: https://www.pcgamer.com/no-mans-sky-next-patch-notes-released-no-update-for-pc-yet/

It might be time to start readying the pitchforks lads.

We have gone quietly into the long dark night of being shafted as paying customers once by Hello Games!.... Let us not make that mistake again!

Be ready!

Now THAT would be truly amazing if that where the case. I think that warrents atleast some kind of compensation (like a free Steam key).

Yet some suckers will continue to use GoG.... and people said the Microsoft Store was bad :D
Humble has it on sale for $30 if GOG's looking to start sending out free Steam keys. I can't in good conscience consider any future purchases on the GOG platform at this point. The silence is deafening at this point. Hell, the patch might come a week or a month from now. That's honestly no big deal for me, but the lack of communication is irking me.

Personally, I use GoG because I play offline and don't want DRM BS. I doubt I am alone, since that was a major part of GoG's founding audience.

Right there with you. Screw DRM, if that means updates come a little slower, that's fine. I usually try to stop Steam from updating games that I have on there, as a matter of fact.

I am pretty upset with this though but not enough to want a Steam version. The lack of crossplay between platforms is starting to be a big issue especially in the VR space with almost none of the Oculus Store/Steam games having crossplay. Not good for consumers at all.
Are we for sure not getting this NEXT patch eventually? That would really suck if so, and put me off buying any third party newer games on GOG.

Completely agree here. And to be clear - I bought NMS to play solo and not for multiplayer. I keep buying my games on GOG, because I simply want my games to be DRM free. I rather really own my games, than be dependent on a third party client with build-in DRM like the one from Steam.
believe it would be quite an undertaking to enable gog service to talk to steam service when it was never designed to do so. which is what is needed for MP between them
Alas... yet another reason I'm always hesitant about buying games on GOG... this kind of stuff happens all too often. After trying to do most of my purchasing on GOG, I now treat it as a DRM-free backup copy after I've bought it on Steam already and the GOG version goes on sale (that is if the Steam version itself has DRM in it, if it doesn't, I just keep the Steam version)

Not only has the Steam version of NMS gotten the NEXT update earlier, it's already gotten a patch past that... glad I have it on Steam as well, cause holding my breath on GOG would be unfruitful

Their advertisements say this update is coming to PC - not Steam only. Regardless of the ads, all platforms must be supported the same. I will expect a full refund if we do not receive the same support from the studio.
