I'm having difficulties trying to install the patch for Might & Magic 8. Whenever I double-click the patch to install it doesn't do anything, the mouse icon just continues to give the "loading" circle and doesn't bring up anything. I am using Windows 10. Is there a compatibility issue for this patch with Windows 10?

I think the file has to be in the same folder as the executable.

The problem I have with the new 2.0 version is that I can't start the .rar file to begin with. It just plain won't run. I'm not getting a corrupted file, but nonetheless ... it gives me two programs to run it with: the file itself (which doesn't work), and MM6, which requires disk 2 - which I have, but is that really necessary when running the GOG version?

Help?

-------------------------

Never mind, got it to work. (Other problem, but got that to work....) I had no trouble downloading, but needed an .rar opener, so I picked a free one & it worked.

Might and Magic VI 2.0 patch file contains a Trojan that originates from the host site. Downloading it triggers an automatic response from Windows Defender. Trojan is listed as "Trojan:Win32/Spursint.A!cl." This Trojan is listed as a Severe alert level virus program and should probably be avoided.

Welcome to the world of older pc games. Since this is an unofficial patch and it edits(in other words cracks the game) it will naturally be a "trojan" - not all "trojans-flags" are bad. The av just cant define what it does or whether its harmful so it will automatically give a standard warning. No need to worry.

how does the MM7's patch work? I downloaded it and installed it, it seems everything went fine, but I don't see any changes in game.

The installation created a new folder called {pf} inside the game folder.

Which game exactly, MM7?

Are there any particular changes you were expecting to see, but not seeing?

ops, I was sure I specified the game, but apparently I didn't :D yes, MM7.

well, I expected to see the changes marked in the patch's log, like quick saves, MP3 tracks, double speed mode, mouse look, etc...I don't see anything different inside the game. I think I didn't installed it in the right way :/

Sorry, not sure what could be the problem.

Avast antivirus flags the file as suspicious for me (because of the way it behaves; the file is safe). My only thought maybe your antivirus is interfering?
I went to GrayFace's website (https://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/mm) to get the MM8 Choose Party mod/script but the link doesn't work anymore. Any chance someone has a working link? I'd be very grateful :)
I bought MM7 and MM8 from GOG. Both games crash all the time every time I try to save them or move to different areas. I own and played the original discs when the game came out, but windows 7 won't let me run them; that's why I bought the Gog updated games. Is there any way to keep my new games from crashing?
