Shadow0fTheDog: I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but I can't get past the loading screen after the menu. The game just crashes. I'm using Windows 10, not sure what other information you require.

jul16ares: I was in your case but waiting, make the job after a bit frozen state, the game continue itself...

That was my experience, wait and don't click on the mouse, otherwise windows said, soft is frozen :)
Yes, right now we load/unload all sub-scenes so they load faster after. It's kind of hacky, but it works. However, it does cause a long hang during the loading. We're working on a cleaner fix :P

bregelion: After around 30 minutes of playing the game crashed saying i have no memory available. I run 8gigs of RAM and when i checked the task manager, kona.exe was using around 5 gigs. hmmm.. pretty strange. any ideas?
Hi!

That's weird. We need to work to optimize the RAM. We tried to fix a hanging problem, I guess it gave us another issue. We'll make sure to look into it. Thanks for the feedback ;)
Bonjour,

Merci
PS:Par contre l'inversion d'axe fonctionne

Played for about an hour so far, and I'm quite enjoying it. I like the puzzle nature and the narration especially. Some general observations and minor control bugs:

1) Movement on foot periodically locks. e.g. - Pressing W or A once and releasing it leaves the character moving continuously in that direction only pressing the key twice stops the motion.

2) Similar inconsistent response when driving the truck

General observation:
The narrow focal plane is extremely difficult to deal with. I have never experienced motion sickness in a first person game before, but the focus shifting in and out constantly coupled with the choppy graphics (beta and low-end laptop) has given me a splitting headache and left me feeling nauseated.

The focus shifting also makes driving the truck very difficult - focus keeps locking in on the inside of the vehicle and is very difficult to shift back to the road.

Point #1 - I'll have a look at it, never heard of that bug before. If you have precise case of the bug happening, that can be really useful :)
Point #2 - You are talking about the depth of field, right? If that is an issue, there the option to turn it off in the option. We might add a slider of intensity to it and reduce the overall strenght though, but that will come in a later build. Plus the focus shiffting is something we're constantly improving. Still, similar to the motion blur and FOV, this is something that some people like that others don't.

Thank you for taking the time to write this to us, it really is useful :)

Point #1 : The movement control glitches are quite regular for me, but I don`t know specifically how to force them to happen nor what specifically causes them. It feels like there`s performance delays (again, I`m on a laptop and I have the graphics set to Medium) and what`s happening is that the game is capturing the key-down event, but missing the key-up event. When I press that same direction again, the key-up event fires and the movement stops. Happens with all four directional movements at irregular times.

Hardware is a Lenovo Thinkpad E560 (Intel HD Graphics 520 vid card), 8 GB RAM, BIOS set to 512 MB video RAM, Windows 10 OS.

Point #2 : Awesome! I didn`t check the options for it! *facepalm* I`ll give it another go with the depth of field disabled.

Last point of note - I couldn`t drive the truck to save my life. The performance delays between beta release code and laptop video cards made all steering movements into delayed and massive overcorrections. I spent the whole drive staring at an out of focus snowstorm as I bounced back and forth between trees and fences on opposite sides of the road. :)

Don`t get me wrong, it certainly made the driving a challenge! But I think I`m going to lower the video settings and disable depth of field for the next run.

Thanks again. I`m loving the game so far!

Whoa you are playing on an intergrated graphic card!? 0o What's amazing is that it works :P as its quite far below the recommended specs.

That being said, we are working hard on improving the game performance so it can run even on integrated chips like yours. Once our big pass will be done, you'll see noticeable improvements on everything you mentioned.

What is happening is: You press a button > The game recognizes the button as being pressed > You release the button while the "frame" couldn't be processed on time > The game does not realise you did press and release the button in a set amount of time, so it thinks you're still holding the button.

For the time being, if the performance makes the experience unenjoyable, I'd suggest (1) getting a refund and/or (2) wait two to three weeks before trying the game again, as it will get better and better.

Again, thank you for taking the time to explain the problem to us :)

Lol. I know it's below spec, that's why I'm cranking all the graphics options to minimum levels. I'm too lazy to set up a real gaming system, so I just muddle through with degraded graphics on my little laptops.

FYI - I'm in NO way trying to comment on the graphics of the game. I just assume that beta releases, especially early, are heavier weight than after they get streamlined later, so I figure I'll just deal with the stuttering as it's my fault, not the game's. :)

Your explanation makes sense and matches my experience. I was on the kickstarter, so there's no refund to chase down. I'll be with you guys every step of the way, shitty laptop and all.

Fair enough, then I'll personnaly make sure the game runs well on your laptop ;)
Hi everyone,

I have noticed that, after walking/running through the snow, sapling and branches, FPS really take a serious hit, and the sound gets choppy (almost echoey, as if the sounds were played again a fraction of a second after).
Going into the car, driving for a while, and exiting the car seems to fix the issue, until you go back through the bushes.

I'm running a 6-core AMD Phenom II 1055XT processor, 8Gigs of Kingston memory, Win 10 and an AMD Radeon R9 290 video card. so I doubt that it is a hardware issue, given that some testers have reported running on medium with Integrated graphics cards.

All the other issue I have found so far have been reported, or even fixed already with the first update. Great reactivity guys, thanks for that.

PS: I chose to report in English so that most testers can understand, but I can switch to native French mode if it makes things clearer, just let me know.

Thanks

The fps drops are caused when a zone loads (the General Store, for instance). I tried it myself to make sure. We're working on this along with the hangs you feel sometimes when you drive your pickup to a house.

For the sound issue, there is corruption sometimes that we are aware of and we are working on it too. I can't tell exactly when though, as we might wait to set French voices and fix them once everything is in there.

Merci pour le commentaire, on apprécie beaucoup ;)
So you said the game doesn't run well on laptops? I have a relatively new Toshiba Satellite, is there anything I can do to get it running? I have an AMD Radeon R7 M260 graphics card.

The user making a report had an integrated graphics card. If yours is a separate video card, your experience may be totally different.
