krashd: @Gotcha007 That 'fix' doesn't work, if you had bothered to read the follow up comments you would see that every time you restart Galaxy you have to disconnect and then reconnect Steam or it doesn't work. The only fix (for all of Galaxy's problems) is to install https://playnite.link/

With Playnite all of the major platform integrations are handled inhouse so you don't have to spend hours on github hoping to find solutions to things that GOG.com themselves should be fixing. This incompetence has been going on for over two years now and the folks who develop Galaxy don't even bother to look on these boards.. that's how little they think of their users. They create a board for you to post Galaxy problems and then they never read it.

Do yourselves a favour - drop Galaxy and put your time to better use by installing a platform where the devs don't leave the community to fix things.
And time you will spend, since "you can make it look like what you want" means it looks like trash to start with and requires you to install a bunch of plugins and a theme and go through esoteric settings which do not have sensible default values to get things working.

I wrote snarky guide on how to do that step by step, the next time I need to set up playnite I don't have to work it out all over again. It's not like playnite saves your configuration in the cloud.

I don't have the backend_steam_network.py file, so the fix won't work for me.

It's a shame, I like seeing my game time and trophies go up in both GOG and Steam :)

I am looking at PRs to the repo, stuff is waiting for over a year. Is it actually being maintained?
Actually, I take that back. PR was a breaking change. I joined their discord and asked some questions. Response was immediate. It's definitely more advanced than GoG and steam, and other integrations all work, except ubisoft playtime import.

Yeah, it's a total joke that the Steam integration is broken for months now and GOG doesn't seem to care.
Then again, also the price/discount filtering in the wishlist isn't working for months now and they also don't seem to be interested in fixing this.

I wrote to gog. They said "Unfortunately, the Steam integration plug-in was created by the fan community, not our team, so we are unable to offer support."

So...

Based on all the posts, looks like playnite is going to suddenly become very popular because the only reason I use GOG client is for the integration of all the game clients.. If it can't do that anymore, then no reason to have it on my machine.

Seriously guys, give Playnite a go, even if the migration takes some time. It's time well spent and in the long run it is totally worth it.

Now I read these threads and cannot help but feeling relieved that I made the switch 2 weeks ago.

I did use playnite before and it was unbearably slow at loading, navigating, and pretty much everything. Galaxy is still slow but at least bearably slow. But it's integrations break more....

It's not working for me either. New install on new computer! Displaying old Steam information from previous link-up.

Come on GOG. This is a super cool app, when it works!

Not working for me either unfortunately. Please fix this because I love GOG Galaxy too much to give up 80% of library that's made of Steam games.
