MichiGen: Nice promo but I already have all games which I've wanted from these.
When will Telltale release The Walking Dead here finally?!
avatar
deonast: Yes I'm still waiting and waiting for that, series 2 and "The Wolf Among Us" and they have other titles not here as well. I don't want steam to have all my money.
avatar
XYCat: why is blackguards so expensive?
avatar
deonast: New game and wasn't a small project, they will want to get their investment back and make a buck or two. You also get FLAC soundtrack and some developer videos so it is a nice package.
I understand it's a new game but a lot of new games don't go out with 50 bucks price tag if it's not like supermajor AAA title.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting the game's not worth the price, I'm just wondering why is it so expensive compared to other games that are not from major publishers like 2K and Activision with their kind of prices.
The promo is nice for those who like adventure games, but it only interests me if it suggests Telltale is willing to bring the Walking Dead games, which seems pretty unlikely at this point.
90% discount is good, but 100 or even 110% is even better. :)

Yeah why the hell is that btw? Why discriminate? Some kind of contractual conflict with Valve?

I guess because it may have more content than most other games that are not from major publishers.

AKKADIAN.699: -.- It's a new game, you cheapskate
...gawd
Not to mention the development costs are obvious at first glance.

Probably contractual conflict with whoever gave Telltale the right to make the games, Image Comics or Fox or whoever. Alternatively Telltale may still be seeing some decent money from all the WD games they made and is afraid to release any DRM-free for fear of lost sales.

Note also that I air on the side of pessimism so that I don't get my hopes up. ;) The release of SimCity 4 blew me away, but amazing unexpected releases like that only happen once in a blue moon now (which is odd since GOG should have just gained ground with publishers since EA coming aboard and sales becoming stronger and I guess having 24 million potential customers here).
Grabbed all 3 Sam & Max, plus the "Oh noes climatez changes!" adventure. :) Thanks GOG!
Memoria, Tales of Monkey Island, Trine 2, and Sword of the Samurai are all on sale... while I'm trying to hold off until next week's day one purchase. *facedesks* Good promo(s), GOG.
