28. Double-Knot your Shoes

Zombie Shooter, a frantic top-down isometric trigger-happy mayhem with massive levels, filled to the brim with repulsive animated corpses, and sporting RPG-like upgrade mechanics adding an extra layer of depth to the simplest zombie-survival gameplay concept, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99!

While developers get really creative with the name of their game, a down-to-earth straightforward title will sometimes take you a long way. Gamers like to know what they get into. With a game like Zombie Shooter everything is right there in the open. You look at the title screen and every misconception about unicorns, buggy racing, and managing a football team instantly disappear like the morning mist. You'll be shooting firearms at the life-challenged individuals. Hordes of zombies, lots of led, isometric view, and some interesting RPG-like character development and upgrade mechanics. Sigma Team, the creators of fan-favorite Alien Shooter series have done it once again. What a pleasant pastime!

Make sure to pack plenty of heat and stay on your toes, as you experience the fun part of the zombie apocalypse in Zombie Shooter, for only $5.99 on GOG.com!
Really GoG?

You make me dissapointed.

Oh nvm. Got so many other games from you to play :D

amok: Zombie games are not a genre, it is a theme... In this case, the genre is isometric 3'd person action shooter (I think that is correct).
Yeah you are right of course, it just a fad that I think has gone on for too long. Everything these days is zombie this, zombie that.

Get a game sell it, then add zombies and sell it again.

I don't like zombies.
I don't like zombie games.
I'm a bitter and twisted non-zombie lovin gamer! ;)

amok: more fun, more mindless. I could not get into Shadowgrounds at all, found them boring to be honest... but I have finished all the shooter games several times. They have a very nice pick-up-and-play feeling when you just want to blast through things. The shooter games are just faster, and shadowgrounds have one thing I hate - re-spawning mobs. Shadowgrounds is more polished, though.
I second this.
I find Shadowground much more boring than this. I get the feeling that Shadowgrounds tries to be something more and fails while this is just about killing hundreds of mons and it delivers.

PaterAlf: This is a very bad game. Not because it wouldn't be fun for some hours, but because it is buggy as hell and quite often when you open chests, your character gets stuck and you have to quit and restart the level. I don't mind when stuff like this happens in 5 out of 100 times, but in Zombie Shooter it happened in 5 out of 6 times in certain levels (even when I tried not to open any chests at all).
Weird, never happened to me.
So it is not guaranteed but it's still something people should be wary of, if it happened to some.

Anyway, the Sigma shooters are fun, but this game is surpassed by Alien and Zombie shooter 2, though. Nice, fun and mindless, but a little repetitive. I guess this means the other Sigma shooters are on their way also.? Strange they have not come here before, as they are sold DRM free elsewhere, and gog already had Alien Shooter 1+2.
I dont understand how standing around or having gun placements and basically just mow down hordes of zombies/aliens is fun.I tried the game series...it was fun for like 5 minutes.....all those games had basically the same formula right?
I don't think I have this game yet (at least I don't see it in my HB account), but not rushing to buy it. Alien Shooter games are ok, I guess...

If Speedball 2 really comes out today, that would be nice. Interested to hear what kind of title music it has (Amiga? Roland? Something else?), and I bet it is more playable with two gamepads than what the original PC DOS version was (considering how DOS didn't support two simultaneous joysticks).

Yeah i agree: it's fun for 5 minutes but then again that's just for me. Some seem to like it...
Language: English

And here goes picture no. 8 - "Press right mouse button for activating..." in Russian. I don't know exactly why, but for some reason it makes me laughing like a goddamn maniac...
For what it is, it's good.
I did a Let's Play of it recently.

Worth playing IMO.

Yes, they are very much the same (except "I am Weapon" which is more arena based with tower defense mechanism). I find them very fun, but then I do like the genre generally. I sometimes find it good to just have a mindless blast through a couple of hundred mobs for no other reason than that you can do so...

so do I, but it is not the same. This is much more relaxing. You can really put your brain in neutral with the Shooter games, it is almost more like the Tetris zone than what you can get like in Borderlands.

it is an old game

I'm definitely not the only one with that problem:

Maybe they patched out the "stuck-bug", but I don't think so. Downloaded and played the game just a few months ago.

nijuu: Also is this supposed to be the Indie or Classic release?
We're going to be so screwed when indie classics start popping up.
