28. Double-Knot your Shoes

Zombie Shooter, a frantic top-down isometric trigger-happy mayhem with massive levels, filled to the brim with repulsive animated corpses, and sporting RPG-like upgrade mechanics adding an extra layer of depth to the simplest zombie-survival gameplay concept, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99!

While developers get really creative with the name of their game, a down-to-earth straightforward title will sometimes take you a long way. Gamers like to know what they get into. With a game like Zombie Shooter everything is right there in the open. You look at the title screen and every misconception about unicorns, buggy racing, and managing a football team instantly disappear like the morning mist. You'll be shooting firearms at the life-challenged individuals. Hordes of zombies, lots of led, isometric view, and some interesting RPG-like character development and upgrade mechanics. Sigma Team, the creators of fan-favorite Alien Shooter series have done it once again. What a pleasant pastime!

Make sure to pack plenty of heat and stay on your toes, as you experience the fun part of the zombie apocalypse in Zombie Shooter, for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

nemesismartyn: Isnt this like an exact copy of Alien Shooter, just that they have switched up aliens with zombies? Kinda disapointed :(
Mostly, but I found this one a tad bit better.

Meh realease overall. It's average game and it was for much cheaper many times across various sites.
Now i must search my HDDs because i am sure i have it stored on one.
If any genre deserves to die its anything Zombie
I'm probably alone in being happy for this release, I love all the Shooter games and I'm glad to have this one here too.

I believe G-Doc explained that they can only use games for the engimatic hint that they are certain are going to be released that week, which is why one hint was for Goodbye Deponia, a game that was only 31 days old at the time.

Still, Speedball 2 HD ought to be coming later today:

Nice to see this, but it really is a "wait for a sale" kind of game.

I think they are already dead. Undead even.

I don't mind it, just wish it had more extras...
I'm glad to see this on GOG and will probably pick it up on a sale.
Only $5.99 you say?
For that price how can I resist?
Too bad I paid $0.99 for the entire pack of Shooters several years ago on GamersGate.
But I am glad you fought hard to get this added to the catalog.

Zombie games are not a genre, it is a theme... In this case, the genre is isometric 3'd person action shooter (I think that is correct).

Anyway, the Sigma shooters are fun, but this game is surpassed by Alien and Zombie shooter 2, though. Nice, fun and mindless, but a little repetitive. I guess this means the other Sigma shooters are on their way also.? Strange they have not come here before, as they are sold DRM free elsewhere, and gog already had Alien Shooter 1+2.
I love GOG but. This is not a classic. One of the worst releases of the year. Sorry. :( (i own these on Steam and i absolutely hate these games!!!)

Also is this supposed to be the Indie or Classic release?

How do Alien / Zombie Shooter compare to Shadowgrounds? (which is on my playlist at the moment)

shadowgrounds is a lot better. This is like a very low budget serious sam version of shadowgrounds with zombies.

more fun, more mindless. I could not get into Shadowgrounds at all, found them boring to be honest... but I have finished all the shooter games several times. They have a very nice pick-up-and-play feeling when you just want to blast through things. The shooter games are just faster, and shadowgrounds have one thing I hate - re-spawning mobs. Shadowgrounds is more polished, though.

This is a very bad game. Not because it wouldn't be fun for some hours, but because it is buggy as hell and quite often when you open chests, your character gets stuck and you have to quit and restart the level. I don't mind when stuff like this happens in 5 out of 100 times, but in Zombie Shooter it happened in 5 out of 6 times in certain levels (even when I tried not to open any chests at all).
