Team: Sniper, Rifleman, Demolitions, and Heavy Weapon Expert. Objective: Preserve Freedom!

Command an elite squad from either the American Delta Force or British SAS in Conflict: Desert Storm on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Conflict: Desert Storm is a first person/third person shooter. You are sent right in the middle of the Iraqi-Kuwait conflict in August of 1990. Your team of trained commandos consists of Bradley, rifleman and team leader; Conners, the heavy weapons expert; Foley, the team sniper; and Jones, the explosives and anti-tank specialist. As your soldiers gain experience, they also gain ranks and can become more skilled in the art of war. This is essential as the war conditions will change from bad to much, much worse.

Rescuing the Emir of Kuwait, engaging Iraqi forces in the Battle of Khafji, rescuing prisoners from Baghdad, fighting Iraqi Republican Guard, assassinating enemy general -- all in-game mission objectives are based on real events from the First Iraqi War with tactics and missions designed by a former SAS officer. The game offers advanced AI, super-realistic desert environment, real weapons, and combat vehicles (a player-controllable Humvee and a M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle)Whether you venture onto the battlefield alone or with a coordinated squad of AI-controlled Special Forces soldiers, you are in the heart of of the most authentic tactical combat experience of the Gulf War.

Do not negotiate. Do not surrender. Get Conflict: Desert Storm for only $5.99 on GOG.com!
Is GOG's "downward spiral" or whatever some sort of a "back in my days" meme? Or is it one of those OCD things where if you see a game that you don't want in a shop, you'll feel so uncomfortable that you need to have it removed to be able to sleep at night?

To me, this downward spiral looks like this:
"Hitman, Deus Ex, Thief, Conflict: Desert Storm => Clearly GOG has gone bad for all eternity"
<=>
"Throwing dice and getting: 5, 6, 6, 2 => Clearly we'll only get 1s and 2s from now on"

I guess it's gotta be a meme :|
..or maybe people go a bit overboard with the new release suspense mystery merry-go-round excitement and get disappointed to the max.

Reviewgamesh: That's all well and good, but where's Tomb Raider?
With this game coming out I finally decided to play the TR1 demo to tide me over however I'm glad now that it wasn't Tomb Raider today because I would have instabought it and been miserable. The controls are just so bad that I can no longer see myself wanting to buy it.

As for Conflict: Desert Storm, I rented it on the PS2 way back when it came out. It wasn't great or anything but I had fun playing it.

Great, American pro-military dick-waving. Exactly what I was looking for.
Cool, i was looking for a game whose cover star looks a bit like Gary Oldman and is dressed as a chopper pilot.
i have this game on the original xbox. it's awesome, especially in multiplayer

xxxIndyxxx: wow talk about disappointment. Not that i exptected 4 amazing releases in a row but i didn't think they would release such a terrible game after 3 classics... IMO this is not good old game but it's always nice to see a more obscure game because they are hard to find if you would want to...

derailedition: are the conflict series games really hard to find though? always seemed overprinted (and underpurchased, always tons of copies in retail stores). I question the sanity of anyone in this thread who say they enjoyed this game, and the even worse sequels.
Breaking News: People often enjoy things that you don't, film at eleven.

If you don't like the game, that's fair enough but if you're going to post a review at the very least explain why you did not like the game and why you think it isn't worth spending money on. A one sentence review saying "Bad, do not buy" tells us nothing except that you are either trolling or that you are devoid of any critical thought when it comes to critiquing games.

'merica. F' yeah.
Guys, there's a solution for your problem: if you have such a deep urge to spend money and don't like today's release, create a giveaway. I'm sure someone will appreciate it.

wut?

protip 1: Pivotal were an English developer studio.
protip 2: you play as British SAS.

alternatively, you can also play as American Delta Force soldiers. they may have included those skins for the American audience, but it's authentic since both units co-operated during the Gulf War and were sent on the same kinds of missions.

also, what's with all the negativity here lately?!?

If they release product in the sequence "Conflict: Desert Storm,Hitman, Deus Ex, Thief, => Clearly GOG has gone good for all eternity"
You'll feel so comfortable.
