Team: Sniper, Rifleman, Demolitions, and Heavy Weapon Expert. Objective: Preserve Freedom!

Command an elite squad from either the American Delta Force or British SAS in Conflict: Desert Storm on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Conflict: Desert Storm is a first person/third person shooter. You are sent right in the middle of the Iraqi-Kuwait conflict in August of 1990. Your team of trained commandos consists of Bradley, rifleman and team leader; Conners, the heavy weapons expert; Foley, the team sniper; and Jones, the explosives and anti-tank specialist. As your soldiers gain experience, they also gain ranks and can become more skilled in the art of war. This is essential as the war conditions will change from bad to much, much worse.

Rescuing the Emir of Kuwait, engaging Iraqi forces in the Battle of Khafji, rescuing prisoners from Baghdad, fighting Iraqi Republican Guard, assassinating enemy general -- all in-game mission objectives are based on real events from the First Iraqi War with tactics and missions designed by a former SAS officer. The game offers advanced AI, super-realistic desert environment, real weapons, and combat vehicles (a player-controllable Humvee and a M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle)Whether you venture onto the battlefield alone or with a coordinated squad of AI-controlled Special Forces soldiers, you are in the heart of of the most authentic tactical combat experience of the Gulf War.

Do not negotiate. Do not surrender. Get Conflict: Desert Storm for only $5.99 on GOG.com!
I'm not into American militarism, therefore go Communism? Whatever, comrade.
There's something very unappealing about the way most multiplatform games from the PS2-era looks. This one is a good example.

Libertarian Anarchism is something good for you.
Isn't there a way to edit your posts? I was going to stick this on the end of my last one, but I don't seem able to. So here we go:

When your country (and the British!) has been stuck in a bloody, futile war for over a decade now, you are allowed to be out of patience with the "Fuck diplomacy! Go war!" attitude that is explicitly put forth in the last line of the game description. I do not think this is unreasonable.

Just wait till we see the "new releases" .... ;-)

Probably best to ignore them and hope for the best.

There is an edit button but then it fails when you write too sudden and don't want it to be in your old message. Or continues kinda, I shouldn't say fail. Only when I'm having sex. Which is never.

There is,but it is rather hidden. You have to go back to your orignial post and click on the misleading, hard to find button in the upper right corner. For some weird reason it's called "edit".

That should do it.
The edit button doesn't appear for me, possible due to some weirdness with my computer setting (I've also occasionally been unable to buy games on it--the box with the buy games/add to wishlist options simply doesn't appear. But thank you for your help.

Adzeth: Is GOG's "downward spiral" or whatever some sort of a "back in my days" meme? Or is it one of those OCD things where if you see a game that you don't want in a shop, you'll feel so uncomfortable that you need to have it removed to be able to sleep at night?

To me, this downward spiral looks like this:
"Hitman, Deus Ex, Thief, Conflict: Desert Storm => Clearly GOG has gone bad for all eternity"
<=>
"Throwing dice and getting: 5, 6, 6, 2 => Clearly we'll only get 1s and 2s from now on"

I guess it's gotta be a meme :|
..or maybe people go a bit overboard with the new release suspense mystery merry-go-round excitement and get disappointed to the max.
Couldn't of said it better myself, it seems that when games like Deus Ex and Thief Gold come out which are some of the most anticipated games on here, they get all excited but they don't actually play them. They just seem to look at them and blow their nostalgic load and then complain to GOG "where is game X" all over again. We seen it before and I guarantee we will see it again even if said game is something like System shock 2.

Oh and if you think that this game release is GOG's downward spiral, you are a pretty big tool. Seriously some of You guys are acting like they just rereleased Earthworm Jim 3D or something

Whodares: Breaking News: People often enjoy things that you don't, film at eleven.

If you don't like the game, that's fair enough but if you're going to post a review at the very least explain why you did not like the game and why you think it isn't worth spending money on. A one sentence review saying "Bad, do not buy" tells us nothing except that you are either trolling or that you are devoid of any critical thought when it comes to critiquing games.

xxxIndyxxx: Did you even read my other posts... breaking news: no, you probably didn't...
I wasn't responding to you or your posts, so why would it matter if I did?
I wasn't waiting for this game, but i'm glad to see it here. I remember playing the gamecube version a few years ago when i got it as a gift, was pretty nice, good memories.

The game definitely looks more retro than i remember though. Feels almost goldeneyeish (i won't even search for screenshots of that, i will feel OLD)

The price is ok for launch.
...looks like another week to catch up on back titles...
I love the Desert Storm games. I'll wait for Back to Baghdad though.

Whoops, I see now... sorry, my mistake (was a bit on edge since i just stated i didn't like it, but in later post that i could see that this is a good addition for people who like it, but no i realise that most of the responses are for Derailedition and because he quoted me i thought they were aimed at me, honest mistake and i apologise)
