Team: Sniper, Rifleman, Demolitions, and Heavy Weapon Expert. Objective: Preserve Freedom!

Command an elite squad from either the American Delta Force or British SAS in Conflict: Desert Storm on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Conflict: Desert Storm is a first person/third person shooter. You are sent right in the middle of the Iraqi-Kuwait conflict in August of 1990. Your team of trained commandos consists of Bradley, rifleman and team leader; Conners, the heavy weapons expert; Foley, the team sniper; and Jones, the explosives and anti-tank specialist. As your soldiers gain experience, they also gain ranks and can become more skilled in the art of war. This is essential as the war conditions will change from bad to much, much worse.

Rescuing the Emir of Kuwait, engaging Iraqi forces in the Battle of Khafji, rescuing prisoners from Baghdad, fighting Iraqi Republican Guard, assassinating enemy general -- all in-game mission objectives are based on real events from the First Iraqi War with tactics and missions designed by a former SAS officer. The game offers advanced AI, super-realistic desert environment, real weapons, and combat vehicles (a player-controllable Humvee and a M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle)Whether you venture onto the battlefield alone or with a coordinated squad of AI-controlled Special Forces soldiers, you are in the heart of of the most authentic tactical combat experience of the Gulf War.

Do not negotiate. Do not surrender. Get Conflict: Desert Storm for only $5.99 on GOG.com!
i consider myself a bit of a fan of the series. Desert Storm 1 & 2, Vietnam and Global Terror are all very solid 3rd-person shooters with a tactics and teamwork component.

obviously, i own this one as well as the sequels. i'm a bit disappointed as i was hoping for Anachronox, which may well have been an instabuy for me.
Never heard about this game.

But it's good - if GOG release such games from Square Enix, we'll be getting pretty huge pack of SE games.

Titanium: I think you guys made a mistake. It should be Thief 2, not this game. What a weird bug. Please get someone on it asap.
Maybe you remember how long it took for Wing Commander IV and Privateer 2 to get here. So Thief II (and eventually III) might be still a long way down the road....

i see what you did there...
I think I'm just going to pretend this didn't happen and come back next week.
That's all well and good, but where's Tomb Raider?
looks like Hidden & Dangerous a little... is it at least as good?

not quite, IMO, but certainly not bad or even abysmal (as the first 'review' seems to suggest).

H&D has always been considered the much better game by most. personally, i preferred C: DS to the first H&D. H&D2, however, is pretty much the best game in the genre.

Antimateria: Well with my brother (many years ago) in co-op. It was pretty cool.
Same here; my brother and me played the first three games of the series on Xbox, all coop only, never touched any of these games in singleplayer. If you have a buddy to play with, this game is a blast.
This isn't my taste, but I can certainly seeing some GOGers being excited about it. After all, I'm still feeling rather spoiled since the release of Deus Ex :p
After two wonderful releases I couldn't but buy and that now I have to find the time to play, my wallet and my schedule say thanks GOG! for this (certainly good) game that is not my cup of tea, at all.
wow talk about disappointment. Not that i exptected 4 amazing releases in a row but i didn't think they would release such a terrible game after 3 classics... IMO this is not good old game but it's always nice to see a more obscure game because they are hard to find if you would want to...
I've never played the PC version but I remember this on the Xbox. Sure it is not a classic and got less than stellar reviews at the time but I did have fun playing through the game. If you feel like playing a simple tactical shooter you can do much worse for five bucks.

The sequel set in the Vietnam war was much better though.

It certainly helped and you get used to the split screen after a while. I played it a while in solo, it was fine even then but it really shined with some other face playing too.
It was back then pretty good looking, at least I remember thinking that. Sand was brown and bridge was collapsing, tanks were shooting (so better prone). Yeah, it was a fun game when you knew what you were doing.
I never did. ^^

derailedition: are the conflict series games really hard to find though? always seemed overprinted (and underpurchased, always tons of copies in retail stores). I question the sanity of anyone in this thread who say they enjoyed this game, and the even worse sequels.
I was talking in a more general sense because i have no idea how widespread these games are. I played this one, really didn't like it and never payed any more attention to it tbh.
