Last call! We're running out of Pots of Gold! ;-)

Heads up! Here's your last chance to take advantage of our special offer. Saint Patrick's Day has come and gone, but such a great holiday should be celebrated all week long. That's exactly what we did with our [url=http://www.gog.com/luckoftheirish]Luck of The Irish soon-to-end special build-your-own-bundle promo! For only 20 more hours you can pick 5 out of 25 remarkable games and create your very own dream bundle up to 90% off. Feeling lucky? Add a "Pot of Gold" to your selection! What's in the pot? Who knows? Maybe it's one of the games off your wishlist? Maybe it's one of the BIG titles? You can even select 5 pots at once to receive a special bundle built for you entirely by our relatively friendly GOG-Leprechauns!

This is your last call, as this fantastic offer will be available only until Friday, March 21, at 10:59AM GMT.

Don't miss out, and Sláinte!

tinyE: I can understand being disappointed or upset, it's being this upset that floors me. I'm almost worried for them; I don't want anyone jumping off a bridge because they got a game they didn't want.
Goodbye cruel world!

Senteria: I just read up on St Patrick's day and what it is all about. From the quick read on wiki I read that they celebrate that the christians have wiped out their old irish culture and they are grateful for that?

Also, isn't it just an Irish holiday that does not have much to do with the rest of the world except for people that are Irish or have some Irish parents or grandparents?
It was originally a religious holiday, not a celebration of heritage or nationality.
The modern version of the holiday originated in America, by Americans celebrating their Irish heritage.

Simbabluenobi: In the States at least (all I know) there is Corned Beef and Cabbage on sale in almost Every restaurant
I never understood why that is. Corned beef isn't an Irish thing. Bacon and cabbage on the other hand. And in Ireland bacon is just a cut of pork, it is not the sliced stuff you fry up.
This pot of gold deal is awesome! I already have most of the games listed in the sale, so the Pot of Gold sale lets me find new games I might like or not. plus the games I get have so far been a lot cheaper then just getting them by themselves :D Thanks GOG!

donsanderson: Between sale picks, pots and 3 full price games I have added 21 good games to my shelf.
At an average of about $3.85 each!
Saved many tens of dollars.
My wish list is clear and I'm a happy man. :)

Thanks GOG.
Wait a minute. Hold the phone, please. You mean to tell me that a wishlist can become....clear? Seriously? How? I've pretty much given up hope of seeing such things before next year at the very least.
I don't wanna play the demons advocate, but c'mon people, why the fuck are you so disappointed and upset?
You knew the risks you were taking before buying pots of gold!
It's like playing Poker at Las Vegas and blame the casino because you had no luck with your cards.

Also, if you do a little research you can see what the pots got inside. I think there is no real secret about it.
they don't take into account any of the games on your wishlist, maybe something to consider for any future sale.

Leroux: (And if worst comes to worst, you can at least hide it from sight in your library. ;) )
And stop trying to talk people into purchasing from GOG instead of STEAM, yes.

Though they do not work weekends, so I'm waiting to see if I'll suddenly be more pro-STEAM come Monday or Tuesday night...

avatar
Leroux: I doubt GOG has ways to actually take personal wishlists into consideration during such promos
RPGnow did it at least once. The trick being, of course, that the game had to already be on your wishlist before the promotion started.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in Vegas they don't randomly take cards out of the deck right? They actually trade in new decks to ensure that the odds remain the same for *everyone*, don't they?

I took the offer at face value, where it mentioned it being random and also mentioned my wishlist being related to the offer, if only as a possible result.

The fact that it was not only a very small list of games, but a *shrinking* very small list, was never stated in the sale's text.

It is not about luck, IMHO . If you were at Las Vegas playing poker, bet some money, and only then realized that you can only win either barbie doll or bunny doll, and realized that you were allowed to check dealers cards before placing a bet, you would be somewhat annoyed.

And yes, it would be somewhat your fault, that you assumed that advertized possibility to maybe win prize from your wishlist or JACKPOT, does not mean that there are other prices other than barbie doll and bunny doll, and it was your fault that you played without checking the dealers cards, but it is still annoying.

Yep, a mere 150 games on my shelf and nothing much else I want. (at the moment anyway)
I'm a hoarder, but a picky one. :)

Touche on that. I just didn't trust what GOG was telling from the beggining and assumed there were only 10-20 games to get on the pots and I forgot about it when I wrote my last post.

227 here, but 141 left on my wishlist, so it's gonna be a while.

You've never been to Vegas have you? XD Oh they may not screw with the deck but trust me, the second the player is given any kind of a chance they take action to stop him or her.

Oh and To everyone else! STOP TRYING TO TALK PEOPLE INTO PURCHASING FROM GOG! Where the hell do you think you are, the GOG forum!? :O

THAT'S where I am? Hmmm. Must've taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque. Oh well, I'll make the best of it and try to stop talking myself into buying things from here. "Hey, quit that, we're broke! Stop buying shit!" "Screw you, I'll sell your blood for more game money!" "Damn it, stop being crazy! That's a....brilliant idea, actually. Grab the large needle and a bucket!"
