2011 has been a fantastic year for GOG.com, let's make it even better and make the last push to achieve the 6 million unique downloaded games milestone.

During our presentation at the CD Projekt Fall 2011 Conference we've shared some numbers that show how successful this year was for GOG.com, all that was possible thanks to you - our great community. One of the big milestones we'd like to celebrate with you is the 6 million unique downloaded games! Help us achieve this number and we'll launch a time-limited special offer for all GOG.com users!

Note that when we say "unique games downloaded," that means redownloading games that you have already downloaded before won't increment the counter.

When the counter on the main page of the website hits 6 million, two exciting things will happen. First off, the lucky user who downloaded our 6 millionth unique game will receive everything that's currently in the catalog, absolutely free! Secondly, everyone who has an account on GOG.com will be able to download Broken Sword: Shadow of The Templars Director’s Cut for free, thanks to Sir Charles Cecil and Revolution Software. The offer will be valid only for 48 hours starting from hitting the milestone, so be sure to check GOG regularly or follow us on and [url=https://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook. Let's get cracking to unlock this achievement as soon as possible - it's all in your hands now!
@TheEnigmaticT : 1) I think you guys are awesome. 2) There are a couple of spelling errors in the text. For instance: "two exciting things will hapen" and "abslutely free! " . I understand you guys were very anxious to post this news ^-^

For a change, I will *not* deliberately try and be the one getting the 6 millionth unique download.
Why? I'm quite all right with the titles I've already bought/am going to buy in the future, thus I don't really feel a need to have the whole catalog.
If it takes longer then till the end of the month i will help out buying a title or two, but i'm robbed this month. I'm very excited about hearing we have such a achievement coming up. :) I guess this may also show some people that you can actually make a business without being a total arse by using unfair DRM, and that oldies aren't dead and that long-term product-care may pay. Thanks gog. Sorry for all the ass kissing.

That's the only way I'd acquire any copy of BS. :)
I don't know if anyone asked this yet, but what about the people who have Broken Sword?

They get the missing "Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri: Alien Crossfire" expansion.

Wouuuhuuuu \o/

Don't expect anything. I'm in that camp, too.

CaptainElectric: In any case, if the countdown number on the front page was more than just representative, clock-squatters would have an above-average chance at winning with only one purchase/download compared to those of us who have bought and downloaded multiple titles. Such a scenario is unfair to us AND to GOG.
There's no such a thing as unfair. They're giving away their full catalog to a single person as an anniversary gift, it's just like another celebration sale, they profit from the kind of talk we're making here on the forums and not somewhere else.

People win on the lottery by playing for the first time ever just as often as not.

Now, between you and me, I have 72 games on my shelf (SHIT! the kind of money I spend here!). I'm not completely sure wether I downloaded all of them or no (I tend to buy the games to play much later, and many I never played). So you see, I'm preparing an operation in which I'll download all these at the same time with different computers, browsers and people helping me. I MUST win.

Choosing another 5.99$ game would be nice.
Let's hope GOG guys will do us the favor.
I too have all the games I want from GOG at the moment, so one less person to lower your chances! :D
Sounds awesome. I wish the best of luck to all.
Wow! Can't wait for my Broken Sword :D, thanks to GOG and Mr. Cecil.
6th million user must download "new" purchased game or must purchase game in that moment?

1. i must buy that game as 6th million ?
2. i can buy game sooner but must start download that game as 6th million ?

I guess it can be one which he hasn't downloaded yet. No matter when he bought it.

The last 1000 downloads should drum up in about a quarter of a second I reckon. ;)

I "wasted" my time in that game and it still is almost the best adventure ever. First Gabriel wins but only with a hair.
