If we win, do we get a GOG-den Joystick Award?

Wa-hoo! We've been nominated in the category for "Best Platform" for the Golden Joystick awards for 2013. The Golden Joystick Awards are unique in that they're gaming awards that are determined by the votes of the gaming community--that's you! Whether you think GOG.com should win or not, please do take a moment and cast a vote in the different categories.

Click here to vote for best platform, 2013!

Note that it appears that you need to have an account with the guys at CVG for your vote to actually be counted, so if you're serious about supporting your favorite game distribution platform--or any other category nominee--take the extra moment to register. While you're there, consider casting a vote for our friends at CDP RED for "Most Wanted" and look at all of the titles nominated for "Best Indie Game" that you can already pick up right here on GOG.com!

Of course we voted for GOG.com as best platform, but some of these other ones are devilsh for us to decide on. Best storytelling? Innovation of the year? There are a lot of good choices! After you've voted, leave a comment below and tell us what you selected this year. :)
Congratulations, GOG! And remember, these things play out more as a high school popularity contest than as a true measure of merit. So GOG may lose Best Platform to Steam, but in that case you're just like the geek who lost Homecoming King to the jock. Once reality kicked in, the geek became a tech millionaire and the jock a drunken burnout. :)

Still, I hope you get a Golden Shaft Of Joy to display on your mantlepiece. Or hide in the drawer beside the bed, along with the D-cell batteries. Your decision, I don't judge.

Bambusek: Voted for GOG. Even if it is ridiculous to compare digital download platforms like Steam and GOG with hardware like consoles.
I guess it is supposed to be the "platform" of the Xbox that one is comparing to GOG, Steam, etc ... such that it is the games available for that particular hardware, the experience of using the store, etc ... - because otherwise I agree it is an ... inexact comparison.
Do we get gifts? :D
I've voted for GOG of course ;). I actually like this year nominations, voted for Walking Dead, DmC, Witcher 3, Mark of the Ninja, CoJ: Gunslinger, DayZ, Payday 2, Arkane Studios.
I'm doing my part!

Created an account, verified it, and voted for GOG. Hopefully it went through. GOG and CDPR are like a breath of fresh air in this gaming industry which considers the customers as enemies.

EDIT: I am unsure that after you have voted in one or more categories, do you need to still separately submit all the votes? Anyway, I did that too.

Stooner: But shows as voted..

lugum: Have you clicked submit?
wait, I have to what? daamn...

oh well, hadn't noticed, guess I'll do it later...
I'm confused how stores like Steam and GOG get put next to consoles to be honest but perhaps the deeper meaning of platform (or the lack thereof) is confusing me in this category >.<
I had to skip like half of the categorizes because I couldn't find a good candidate. But know this, I voted for you gog!
This was easy...
A, B, B, A, C, A, B, B, A, C,
Why is GoG a platform? GoG should be PC gaming. Consoles as platform makes sense, as does Steam, because Steam is not PC gaming.

Crosmando: Really now.... I think I played a Japanese hentai game last week with better storytelling than the TR reboot

Bambusek: Oh don't laugh, hentai games actually can have a good storytelling. Well, some of them :D
The only hentai game I know is this ;)

I think that the Golden Joystick Award Team is offering not enough choices in ALL of those categories!
Oh, not all:
There are enough in the platform-category: Of couse voted for you, GOG-Team!
I wanted to vote you yesterday but it caught me off-guard with account creation when I was too sleepy. I guess I'll do it for you today.

I agree, it's kind of dumb :/

They should at least make a distinction between PC and console gaming...
