snowkatt: and didnt count on people rejecting it or liking to choose and have things being optional

big companies tend to be very myopic and usually turn in to the thing they claim to hate
Worse is they horribly integrated it. Before when there was comments on videos to go over you had your inbox all your comments were attached to went. With G+, you had to go somewhere obscure like a Gmail location, and you couldn't just see all of them, you had to see each of them individually.

For many the mess was so bad they just disabled comments and link to reddit instead, TB does this... My own videos i put private until the G+ issue gets resolved. Naturally since i can't even log in due to how screwed up it is for me, that's not going to happen any time soon...

I hate greed... Unfortunately if i make something that sells really well i'd probably become greedy, but i doubt i'd become stupidly greedy. Makes me wonder if my program i'm working on works i'll wonder what will happen...
low rated
I doubt the Command & Conquer series is being withheld from GOG solely to boost Origin. More likely there are complex retail agreements, which differ by country, that are getting in the way.

Wait...What the....?Weren't some of the C&C games released for free?!?
Meh, too many people will complain C&C requires keys for multiplayer and then the DRM also has to be cut out of the single play first which might not even be possible without breaking multiplayer, hence pirated versions relied on keygenerators.

But with the official servers down, I doubt there is any need for serials.

Barry_Woodward: Has EA release any other classic games exclusively on Origin?

snowkatt: ultima online
medalof honor air borne
a syndicate
star fighter
Medal of Honor: Airborne and Star Wars Starfighter are not exclusive. They are both on Steam.
The Syndicate that is exclusive is the 2012 reboot. Not quite a classic.

AgentBirdnest: Star Wars Starfighter are not exclusive.
I don't think snowkatt is talking about Starfighter, because it has nothing to do with EA. Probably referred to Medal of Honor: Warfighter, but this is also not a classic game.
It's funny for those games to be an exclusive on Origin as they are "broken" out of the box there.

The older titles have color palette issues since the First Decade pack and none have been addressed in the latest complete pack. The games are mostly sold as they were released plus the last patch released.

I'd rebuy them without thinking here, even though I have the Decade pack and the Origin one, just to have them working properly out of the box and to show support for GOG.

Grargar: Sold on and [url=http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-CCUC/command-and-conquer-ultimate-collection]GamersGate (regionally-restricted to America by the way)
- You put the GG link also on the Amazon, here's the link for those interested;

- So dumb that GG doesn't sell it worldwide, doesn't matter since everyone can still buy it from Amazon (probably cheaper);

- For those who don't mind using Origin, during the sales that collection goes for 5$ (4€/3.2£) on Amazon.

Oops! Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed.

But aren't Amazon digital purchases restricted to America?

Grargar: But aren't Amazon digital purchases restricted to America?
Well, you can use a fake american adress and buy it from there, i've been doing that for some years without any problems and even Tony (the guy that made the digital deals, no longer there since he was promoted) said it was ok.

A few weeks ago Tarnicus said that Amazon started blocking international purchases, but recently i've bought 2 psn cards (for my american psn account) and there wasn't any problem, granted, i used the method to circumvent the psn cards (you can't buy psn cards directly from your CC, you need to buy Amazon credit from their gift system, add to your account and then use it to buy the cards).

Still i'm not sure if this method is required for other amazon digital purchases, i've only seen Tarnicus mentioning the international restriction and whenever i add cc to amazon they even ask if it is in €, so why ask that? It could also be some restriction only to Australia (since Tarnicus is from there), i don't have anything to purchase from Amazon right now so i can't test it but hey, there's still that method that i mentioned if there really is a restriction.
Me tell you ancient, chinese secret...

You, go find retailer, sells "Command and Conquer: The first decade", box. You buy!

You go house, install in pc, put the disc in box, box on shelf proudly!

You go and download the community patch, "The first decade: 1.03, revision 4"! You, install, you!

And done! Works like your regular gog game, without DRM, without even the disc being inserted needed. And those games are the best in the series anyway. Because they were made while westwood was still alive. And because EA took over and threw shit everywhere on every title, right after. Red Alert 3 was a bad joke (stupid and childish game with abyssmal humor), a terrible piece of junk, without even single player campaign (you had to stomach support AI). Command and Conquer 3 was simply OK, nothing spectacular or phenomenal though, like the titles of old. And let's not even begin to talk about C&C 4.

Faq Origin. Thankfully, Origin itself, does not even contain or support, the first decade, as a standalone game/collection. It features only the Ultimate C&C collection, which, notably enough, does NOT have the fan and community support, patches and love/care dedicated for its sake. There!

I still wish there was some way to get C&C on GOG. Generals and Red Alert 2 were a lot of fun!

I thought the color palette issue is one of the few ones which actually were addressed in the Ultimate Collection. But yeah, all in all the Ultimate Collection is simply in a broken state. The first three games have serious speed issues by default for me, Red Alert 2 won't launch on my system, Generals crashes soon after launch for me and Zero Hour asks for a disc. Thank God that out of all games in the pack Renegade works fine because you know, that's the game you buy a Command & Conquer collection for... ha ha... ha...

Yeah, it's the same for me. Surely GOG would ensure that the games actually work. I'd even buy the games from GOG if I had to pay six to ten bucks per game. :P

I never really liked Generals much but yeah, Red Alert 2 was insanely fun.

If you're THAT against Origin - why not hunt for C&C The First Decade - was a twin DVD pack with all games up to RA2 and its addons

As for them coming here ... don't hold your breath -
