tinyE: Because those human characters are played by people like Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. :P It's like they got together and thought, "How many self righteous pricks can we fit into one movie?" :P
Honestly, I think Shia LaBeouf gets a lot more flak than he deserves. It isn't really his fault that he often ends up being in controversial movies with terrible scripts (though it is kind of odd how often he's been selected to play in revivals/sequels to old movie series). When he has had something good to work with, he's actually proven himself to be a genuinely talented actor.

In any case, I don't think the sheer presence of human characters was the issue. The issue was that not only did those characters get a significant amount of focus for a movie ostensibly about the titular robots, they were also quite terrible as characters and the segments focusing on them only served to detract from the movies.
Transformers movies having human characters? Huh?
Don't get confused. Those movies don't have human characters.
They have humans playing cardboard stand ups, though... >:D

hey hey !
dont insult cardboard will you ?

id rather watch 2 hours of cardboard then "characters" like the odious comedic relief or sams parents
I have never quite understood peoples fixations with these movies. They were silly pointless action movies to go "oo" and "ah!" at. Who gives a shit if the characters are poor, as long as everything looks cool blowing up!

because when a movie is called transformers and we spend 120 minutes of the 150 minutes running time focussing on the awfull human characters before things get interesting then we got a bit of a problem spuddie

its like the dark knight focussing on a bit character that doesnt matter and ignoring batman and the joker

besides i am a transformers fan
and i saw these movies to see the transformers not get frustrated at pointless annoying unfunny fucking humans and the equally unfunny comedic relief

I think Kylie Jenner might get a role as an extra.

We must of been watching different movies then because they weren't that bad. But saying that I don't have unrealistic expectations for summer block busters. Michael Bay has things blowing up in his movies, that's what we got. No complaints.

What, you didn't like Marky Mark snuggling up to the Teddy Bear again?
Yep the movies where about the "human" story of a world that has the Transformers in it.

The last movie was beyond awful. They just gave up on figuting out the transformation sequence and replaced it with lots of shiney cubes.

that only happend with "galvatron"
and that transformation sequence has precedent

in the G2 comic th transformation was portrayed as a flash with a lot of loose parts
and in beast machine the transformation was also done in a light flash

if with that you mean i want to see snarf being lowered in to a fiery lava pit along with orko and slimer then yes i have

the 2011 series is better

and i want ALL the human characters from transformers in that lava pit as well

sans buster ( he knew when he had to get out of the way )
sparkplug ( his father who knew transformers were trouble )
jimmy hunter and verity ( got swept up but also knew when it was time to get out of the way )
and sari ( well ...she isnt human strictly speaking )

all the others are annoying because they get in the way ( hanging around a battleground with giant alien robots that can level buildings is NOT the key to a long life )

or they are just annoying ( the life action cast daniel the masterforce cast )

Snarf was to the Thundercats like JarJar was to StarWars. WTF did people thing they needed some annoying little crap in our already perfect cartoons?
