H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Fiction
Just started reading The Wheel of Time series. I've heard a lot of good about Robert Jordan's work so I've got decently high expectations. I'm a pretty big fan of Tolkien and haven't read much else in the fantasy genre in the last 5 years, so we'll see how it goes over. I'm pretty picky when it comes to fantasy cause so much of it is generic trash.
Right now, Primo Levi's The Periodic Table.
Hi guys :) I am curently reading Dan Simmons-The Terror. I heard it is a good horror story. For now it hold my attention. :)

Before that i read Under The Dome-Stephen King, and i really really liked it. The book is amazing. Really good story, when i was reading it a couple of times i had lump in throat, some scenes are really touching. The tv series i didnt watch and i dont want to, becouse i think the book is much much better then the tv series. :)
Dune.

The book was all right, but I felt the ending was a little rushed. As for the TV Show, it is different from the book.

SPOILERS for those that haven't read the book

A few difference: Barbie murdered someone before the dome came down. Junior doesn't kill the girl from the book and the girl isn't an ugly freak...she's his girlfriend or ex according to the girl. The big guy doesn't kill the reverend with the baseball in his study. I've only watched about 4 episodes of it...so maybe Junior eventually kills people.

Yeah, i saw that. :/ and from the start i didnt like it. Also the ''ugly girl'' have brother that from the start meets Barbie but in the book they meet something in the middle of the story... And i also saw that Rasty gets traped outside of the dome(there is a lot of going on in the book between Barbie and Rasty), and that people cant hear each other from other sides of dome(in the book they can hear each other). :)

I recently started reading "The Talisman" by Stephen King and Peter Straub. I remember reading this back in 2009 I believe, but only got about halfway through. Now I'm trying to finish it this time.
Do comic books count if so I just finished reading Superman: What's so funny 'bout Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

It is one of the better Superman stories.
Just finished up Warlord of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs, either I am sick of reading this series or that was one of the weaker books of the series. I'll put the rest of the Series on a shelf for later and move back to my favorite genre, fantasy. Not sure which book I will read next.

H.P. Lovecrafts short stories? He might have been a stupid racist idiot but his short stories were pretty good.

Lovecraft's ideas originated from his time, his incredibly difficult life (he wasn't eating what he needed to survive, in fact he did die at a pretty young age) and his estranged childhood. But hey, nowadays anyone on the Intershits can define one of the most influent authors of modern worldwide imagination as a pure and simple "idiot".....

I know about his childhood and his life. But that is no excuse for him being an "idiot". He was not stupid, of course not. But his views on human race were idiotic. If you would have read "On the creation of Ni**ers" you would understand why i've called him an idiot.
Just read the first Halo book. Pretty good, it gives a lot of background information. I recommend it to every Halo fan.

OTOH he called his beloved black cat for "Nigger-Man"...
