50-80% off Darksiders, Rogue Legacy and Titan Souls.

Once upon a time there was a hero. One little hero against the world. Through thick and thin, dungeons and swarms, he presses on and on! Weekly Staff Picks: Final Boss are a selection of four titles with some of the finest, biggest boss fights that await our hero at the end of the dungeon. At 50-80% off, that hero is you.

One Arrow, One Boss, One Shot, One Kill. Titan Souls is a game that focuses entirely on an unforgiving series of quick and ruthless boss fights. You'll have to observe and learn fiendish attack patterns, to spot your opening, and make the shot. You will die a lot - but each time will be a learning experience. It's a simple, challenging-but-fair action game with a name that's no coincidence…
You may not succeed, but you'll make it your business to help your children succeed. Or maybe their children, or perhaps even their children. In Rogue Legacy, each generation of fighters you control will take advantage of everything that their ancestors have learned to delve deeper and deeper into the mysterious castle looming over your village. On your way you'll encounter peculiar bosses including a floating Eyeball, an anthropomorphic flaming ball of fire, a purple-flaming floating skull, and more deadly curiosities.
Finally, there is Darksiders I and II a story of Death and War - the riders of the apocalypse. With a setting like that, you can only imagine the kinds of towering, massive and unholy horrors that you'll face.

Reach the final boss, get up to 80% off, in this week's Weekly Staff Picks. The promo will last until Thursday, August 27, 9:59 AM GMT.

Stream watch:

See two of these titles in action Tuesday, August 25th, at Twitch.tv/GOGcom!

So... Basically everything that costs more than 9.99 is, or is going to be, not giftable anymore? Bigger. Fresher. Newer. GOG.com, I guess :/

A typical pattern is almost everything that costs $19.99+. Some games are exempt like Broken Age, Legend of Kay, Neverwinter Nights 2, Raven: The Legacy of a Master Thief and SimCity 4.

Treasure: Also, the same on Blackguards 2, but not Blackguards 1 and its dlc...
avatar
Grargar: Also, with Republique Deluxe Edition, but not the standard one. They are so many, that I am seriously considering writing a list.
You forgot Kerbal Space Program... And yes, it'd be a good idea to make a gogmix - I even thought of doing so myself, but I think you're better at managing big-sized gogmixes...

Not everything... Many indies cost more than 9.99 but aren't restricted... I think only those which are well-known or something are thusly restricted...

Btw, the same with Oddworld New n Tasty too...Also, I used in Magog the filters released after Jan 1 2015 and more than 19 to find most of these, for what it's worth...
Also, Shadowrun Hong Kong + its Deluxe Edition, but not the upgrade nor the previous installments...
Also, Train Fever... Will this list ever end?
And Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power but not the other Trine products... And I now cannot put any more attachments in this post...
An Ys Origin, but not the other Ys games... And I'm now done checking the games released in 2015... I'll do some more checking in the 2014 games... (I know Ys origin is a 2014 game, but found it via checking Ys VI, which isn't restricted)

U.S. here.

Just tried Witcher II, and I have the same restriction.

Might be because of the large number of complaints of keys bought from shady resellers which turned out to be fraudulently purchased?

No idea, but if this is the case, it explains why mainly halfway-new/popular games comprise this list and not more obscure/indie ones...

Continuing from the previous post: (@ Grargar-some more additions to a possible gogmix)
Also, the same with 1954 Alcatraz...

I'm assuming it's the games from here...
same restriction for darksiders in germany. Can' t say I like this new development. Why do they do that?
they don't like giveaways? people spending more money than only for the games they want for themselves? It just doesn't make any sense....

Well, Guild of Dungeoneering isn't restricted (yet), but anyways I'll continue to take notes based on the g2a list now too... as this might be possible...

And Tales from the Borderlands are restricted too indeed...
Game of Thrones Telltale too... Not Terraria though...
Banished too... but not Xenonauts... nor Cosmonautica...
Broken Sword 5 too... but not Sunless Sea...
The Wolf Among us too...
Outlast too, but not the Whistleblower dlc... nor the vanishing of ethan carter...
And Armikrog Deluxe Edition, but not the plain one... nor papers please... nor doorkickers...
The Escapists too...
Also Legend of Grimrock 2, but not the 1st one...
Starpoint Gemini 2 but not its dlc...
Dreamfall Chapters season pass special edition, but not the plain one nor its upgrade... (Nor Grim Fandango remaster)
Lichdom Battlemage too...
Also Sam&Max Beyond Time&Space + the Devil's playhouse but not the other ones...
Also Telltale's the walking dead season 2 but not 1, nor the 400 days dlc...

tinyE: The reviews are great but I'd rather hear it from my friends in here (I'm an elitist), how is Darksiders?
Well, I brought both on launch. Didn't hold out much for them, however they did surprise me. Don't think for a minute that they are anymore than console hack and slash. However what it does it does well. I found the first better, maybe just cause I played it first, but the story was better. The seconds engine was a bit of an increase. They are currently on for £5 and £12. To me, £12 is too much for the second. Maybe buy the first and see how you get on with it, I think for that you will get value from it.

I think it's worldwide. I can't gift Darksiders also, but still can gift Darksiders II. I still think it's related to the fact that money launderers (using stolen credit cards) found out about GOG and are now abusing it to sell keys from GOG.

hmm, damnit. well down the drain goes another nice forum activity...
What I don't understand is why gifting from higher priced regions is not possible? Kind off like its done on Steam since they imposed regional restrictions I think.
Shouldn't there be some kind of "Good News" Article about that somewhere ;)

Because according to gog staff the fraudulent transactions came from higher priced countries mostly. So it's probably a worldwide problem.
