50-80% off Darksiders, Rogue Legacy and Titan Souls.

Once upon a time there was a hero. One little hero against the world. Through thick and thin, dungeons and swarms, he presses on and on! Weekly Staff Picks: Final Boss are a selection of four titles with some of the finest, biggest boss fights that await our hero at the end of the dungeon. At 50-80% off, that hero is you.

One Arrow, One Boss, One Shot, One Kill. Titan Souls is a game that focuses entirely on an unforgiving series of quick and ruthless boss fights. You'll have to observe and learn fiendish attack patterns, to spot your opening, and make the shot. You will die a lot - but each time will be a learning experience. It's a simple, challenging-but-fair action game with a name that's no coincidence…
You may not succeed, but you'll make it your business to help your children succeed. Or maybe their children, or perhaps even their children. In Rogue Legacy, each generation of fighters you control will take advantage of everything that their ancestors have learned to delve deeper and deeper into the mysterious castle looming over your village. On your way you'll encounter peculiar bosses including a floating Eyeball, an anthropomorphic flaming ball of fire, a purple-flaming floating skull, and more deadly curiosities.
Finally, there is Darksiders I and II a story of Death and War - the riders of the apocalypse. With a setting like that, you can only imagine the kinds of towering, massive and unholy horrors that you'll face.

Reach the final boss, get up to 80% off, in this week's Weekly Staff Picks. The promo will last until Thursday, August 27, 9:59 AM GMT.

Grargar: I'm in, as long as you're willing to pay for all of us. :D
:D It might take about a 10 seconds till I'm completely and forever broke. But what glorious 10 seconds that would be :)

Lin545: I agree. They punish people who actually have done nothing illegal, and they indeed should advertise the risks accordingly. Because its like getting punched in the face for talking to a random person, which is later found out to be a criminal.

Rincewind81: They don't punish the wrong people. The credit card company charge fees for fraudulent purchases. The developers of Natural Selection 2 were scammed before.

We deactivated these keys because they keys were purchased with credit cards where the card-holder initiated a “charge-back.” A charge-back is a consumer protection mechanism offered by payment companies such as Visa, allowing a card-holder to dispute a charge on their credit card statement. This means we never received payment for the game. In fact, we were charged a fee by the card issuer for the charge-back. For these 1,341 keys, these fees totalled around $30,000.

Rincewind81: This fraud can costs GOG easily ten thousands in USD and YOU feel punished and punched in the face?
Yes, I do, and yes, credit card company is ILLEGAL to do this!
I have helped manage a ebay shop, and there were exactly such issues, when consumer purchased a product, it was sent to him, tracked and then consumer claims to never recieved it - although tracking showed it was given in his hands.

In this situation Paypal will refund customer money, but will NOT take it from seller. Of course a seller must open a new ticket and assist to maximum to resolve the situation, whilst abiding to terms of use. This is obvious that fraud may be on buyer AND seller side - and only time may show who really lies. But it is ILLEGAL to punish someone who has not committed a crime.

Maybe once you will yourself be given a chance to experience impact of such action, then maybe it will open your eyes if its illegal to take your legally purchased property, because someone somewhere on the trade chain did a fallacy. And YOU will be the one charged for that.

Obviously in the situation you described, VISA is the one to be sued for misinterpreting/misusing the buyer protection in own favor.

First we talk about credit cards. Second are you kiddin? Paypal does not pay for fraud. This is always the problem of the seller and he is responsible and Paypal is well known for f***ing sellers.

First, yes, credit cards. Paypal, visa, mastercard - are all credit accounts, just paypal does not provide one with a card. They all connect to real banking accounts and offer money transfer & escrow service.
They collect % from transactions, which is used to cover such cases - both to amortize the costs and assist law & investigation on the criminal activity. The criminal is then fined in the end to maximum possible under law.

Second, I am depicting real-life situation which I experienced, not fantasies about how **** paypal may be on the internets.
It is pure logic, that even if my depiction shows paypal (in this case) as fair and correct service, it does not exclude possible illegal or questional activity by paypal itself - regardless of what origin. This is because paypal is an organization and can't be judged solely in binary terms. So yes, it happened few times, yes we were fully transparent and clear, and yes paypal has resolved the case by refunding the very possibly fraudulent customer and this is paypal job, because this is why they take % from transfer. And its also their job and interest to investigate and assist the law against the criminals, which we (our shop) supported to the maximum.

As stated above, this is something one must first personally experience. Only then one can give statements of what is right or wrong. GG
