StrongSoldier: Those responsible for gog.com are not going to give explanations about the future of the platform ???

There is a lot of news that gog.com is generating a lot of losses and that gog.com could disappear in the medium term.

We are many who support gog.com but they should give us an explanation that we trust every week.

Right now there is a lot of uncertainty and this may affect future sales-

RWarehall: What losses? Let me guess, you read one article from Kotaku...
Yesterday their 2018 financial report came out. They made a profit for the year as with every year I've seen.

May I suggest you not take speculative clickbait media at face value. And maybe, just maybe, you should be asking Kotaku why their story turned out to be so wrong in terms of the financials.

Another problem with your suggestion is that as a publicly traded company, CDProjekt can only release financial information in accordance with trading and security regulations which takes the form of pre-scheduled quarterly statements.
Don't waste your fingers typing an answer to his queries, man.
He's one of the resident trolls here. He doesn't even buy games on GOG (like Sachys hinted, he probably doesn't even buy games at all).

I'm not a troll. The situation of gog.com is very sad.

They are the best platform that exists. The day that closing gog will be the end of the rights that as users we have on the games that we buy.

When there is only steam, epic store or stadie there will be many users who will ask for a platform like gog.

They do not deserve it, they are ungrateful.
I'm 99.9% certain GOG would make an official announcement and takes any necessary measures should they be dissolved.

But with that said, I would always suggest having all of your games periodically downloaded to drives... and be thankful that they are DRM-free. Yes, Steam said they would unlock game libraries if they were to dissolved, but I have much less faith in Steam than GOG/CD Projekt
Those responsible have been sacked.

Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.

You can always watch their recent talk to investors. GOG appears to be doing fine.

Expect more of these "doomsayer" threads as the digital marketplace wars heat up. Ah the psi-ops
What losses? Didn't GOG turn a slight profit in 2018?

So watching that, it seems that the "disappointing GOG" year is 1- exchange currency related, 2- Gwent related (gwent has been fused to a degree in GOG) and 3- work related to some unspecified new technologies for the platform (to support the webstore he says ? I'd guess they are working on server applications to support some kind of multiplayer component for CP2077 or some other kind of online stunt for the game).

Does anyone know if the people recently fired weren't in fact related to gwent ? There is an interesting slide during the presentation where it's pretty clear that GOG grew fairly well for all third parties related stuff (so as a general store). There are some stuff about the blizzard deal too, but it's way over my head.
Despite not being all that worried, the layoffs did push me to finally start backing up my games. Not too hard since I don't have a ton of games; those who do should probably use the python script.

So if GOG dies we may cry but I'll have my games.
Warcraft 2
gog's business decisions are made transparent to shareholders, not customers. that said i would like some comfort in gog's plans. saying you have 60 days to backup your games isn't comforting. i buy gog games because it is one of my backup solutions as well as my own personal backup. that said gog doesn't have to answer to us.
Why are you here on GOG, boztix? Looks like you're just another steam shill posing as a GOG supporter.
Have all these doomsday threads started from that one thread about GOG's 2028 profit?

Y'all are hyterical. At the very least they'd let us know they're sinking ship. They let us know avout ending the region pricing stuff.

If you're actually worried, buy more shit from them.
