JudasIscariot: Do you really want to see Night Trap here? I am old enough to remember when that came out and it was errrmm less than good, to put it nicely, back then.
I'd probably buy it, just for the heck of it. Nothing like some early-90s FMV trash for some good laughs.

donsanderson: Reading the description of the video:

Yup, that's another one of those clever Enigmatic T hints for a game soon to debut on GOG.com!

The word debut caught my eye.
That would indicate something brand new, first time released.

Still no clue what it is but thought I'd throw that in for the smarter people here. :)

JudasIscariot: Wouldn't debut be a proper word to use for any game that wasn't here before? :)
Has anyone guessed correctly yet?

It could but generally a debut is a first public appearance.

Edit: Hey, we're all reachin' here! :-)

The 5 disks could also have something to do with the gameplay. Maybe there are 5 major quest items to find, or maybe it's the 5th in a series or heck, could be a set of 5 games like Wizardry 1-5.

So when will GOG release Night Trap or DreamWeb ?

Yes, I want Nigt Trap on GOG :)
So in truth, the only suggestion that seems disappointing to me is Gothic 4. I recognize GOG needs to bring it, but I kind of hope there's something higher up on the wishlist released too.

I'd support GOG bringing Dreamweb as a freebie! (Or something else here - OMF, Abuse, Halloween Harry, etc.)

I was considering trying to figure out who had the DOS rights to Night Trap, but decided against it because I had already helped to bring Harvester, and didn't really want to only be known for helping to bring offensive titles. :P

I suggested DLC Quest earlier - that would be disappointing, its not terrible just very short!

The idea it could be a multi-game series like Wizardry is a pretty good idea although I don't know if any of the Wizardry games have a robed figure with an exclamation above their head or not. Wizardry is very old though too, so the first 5 games in the series probably would fit on a fraction of the space of one CD I imagine.
I don't think it is Wizardry, (it was mentioned earlier in the thread and apparently isn't a correct guess). Just using that as an example. My point with the disks is that maybe they are merely symbolic of something else and that the game never came on 5 actual disks.

But Isn't the 'robed figure' just GOG MD Guillaume 'TheFrenchMonk' Rambourg in his normal, day-to-day attire though?

Me three!
Mageknight Apocalypse has silly amounts of CD's on PC, original release was on CD and about 6 months after initial release was changed to 2 DVD's

No, not sure who it is but it isn't Guillaume, just search Google images for his mugshot and it's someone else. They might have stolen his monk's robe though. ;o)

I just had a crazy idea out of left field hit me... GOG or CD Projekt should create their own video game where you play a character who works for a DRM-free gaming distributor and your quest is to make contacts at all the video game companies out there and convince them to release their video games DRM-free through your service. You have to dig through layers of legal complexities, competition, angry users who don't like changes you've made to your service, and other stuff. It could be done RPG style with quests to bring particular vendors, titles, series on board and rewards for doing so. Planning sales and managing people's discontent with your marketing strategies... It could be like an RPG meets 4X type game of sorts. They'd have to put in some FPS shooter action somehow too though. Perhaps at a certain point a zombie epidemic breaks out and the game takes a turn for shotgun action... Hey, sign me up for the first copy! :)

Did you really want to see Daikatana here? ;)

On a serious note, I don't think GOG should bother with every bad game out there; after all, they tend to be considered bad for a reason and they probably wouldn't bring in enough cash to justify it anyway. But I would consider Night Trap to be worth considering on the basis of its historical significance; it was the controversy surrounding Night Trap and Mortal Kombat which lead to the creation of the ESRB.

Maybe they didn't care either way about Daikatana but instead they just wanted to make all of us become John Romero's bitch? ;o)
