I heard back from GOG Support, here's what they said:
[...]

If you have logged in not longer than an hour ago, and decide to change your account email address, or avatar, you will not be asked to input your current account password.
However, if an hour have passed since you've last logged in to GOG.com, password will be required to make any of those changes.
And after asking for some further clarification, just to make absolutely clear:
You can change your avatar and username without the need to enter your GOG.com account password for an hour after you log in to GOG.com.
Looks like my joke-post was spot on. :-)
With regard this "one hour" thing, a coule of days ago I logged out, then back probably within an hour. I was greeted by my avatar and a request for password to enter. I figured out straight away that there was a time setting for convenience. My point is, I was asked for my password, not my login. Are people getting confused over the terms login (as in email) and password (as in asifiwouldtellyou).

In my experience, within the hour, you are asked for your password, not your login.

I I'm not terribly mistaken, this has to do with not clearing your cookies/cache after logging out. If your cookie is still valid when logging back in, regardless of how much time has passed, the system presents you with a different screen where your username and avatar show, and you're asked only for your password.

On a side note, the one hour window refers to this.

Can't get safer than that... /s
I just noticed that the missing GOG downloader links bug for Ceville (sadly removed from sale in 09/2016) still has not been fixed. At the moment it is not possible to use GOG downloader to download the game (if you bough it before removal). When you try to access the page with the GOG downloader links you'll get a 404 error. The only possibility to still use the links is the adalia fundamentals script - so basically the links are still there but the page listing them was wrongfully deleted.

Yep, really annoying. I mean they always said they would not continue to support the gog downloader anymore because of galaxy, but it would be nice it they would at least put the correct links for it.

eiii: Hopefully! How long is that "while"?

moonshineshadow: No clue to be honest. Was quite some time ago that it happened to me.
The while seems to be over now, the "My posts" page magically fixed itself. ;)

Yay for magical fixes. Took quite a while. A not wonky forum software would be really nice at times ;-)

No magic, I'm afraid. If you noticed, that page only goes back a week, so if the deleted thread is older than that, it no longer conflicts with properly displaying threads you've posted in.
Attachment button seems to be broken, anyone else having that problem?

Oh, it is for me too (in Pale Moon).
Broken for me too, a few odd errors in the console but not sure if they're related or not..

Edit: In Chrome.

The "Post my message" button isn't working for me in FF, but it works in GOG Galaxy. I wonder if this is just another ploy to get people to use their "non-mandatory" client.
