realkman666: Dudebro speech with third-person shooter and focus on graphics like Ryse. I really feel like Sony wanted a great-looking "Western" game.
Haven't they been doing the same with the Killzone series at least since Killzone 2? (minus the third person)

I'm really not familiar with these. :/

rtcvb32: Microsoft is quite known as a copy-cat overall... can you copy-cat a copy-cat? Or does that run the possibility of tearing a hole in the fabric of the space time continuum?
No, if Stephen (or was it stefan?) Molyneux or shadow of mordor has proven, being a plagiarising copy cat, if hyped enough, can survive for the stupidest reasons in the current industry (like "it's a good game/book")

I couldn't even begin to use the word "dull" to describe it. Looks pretty though.

I've seen people accuse Molyneux of all sorts of things but this is the first time I see anyone accuse him of plagiarising stuff. Care to elaborate?

SORRY, meant another dude from long ago Stefan Molyneux, if you want a better introduction go here

Any problem with inside integrity of someone of Moly's fanbase?, go here!

Any anti-Stefan site?, go here

any reddit post that make him look bad?, sure we got it

A reddit thread that doesn't tear him to shreds because of their sheepish attitude?, go here, even if he is kind aright, but this dood has a history for horrible woman relationships (and understandably enough people think he is an anti-feminist, but that implies in his mind people have a reason to defend women) so I would doubt where the coherency of his Robin Williams deduction has been

And self-sucking, it's not gay if you are Roleplaying the whole time as a woman

It's like they're operating under the misconception that Gears of War is still hot stuff.

And that "cinematic" is still a hot buzz word, like we're back in 2008. I had hoped the industry had finally moved beyond that.

LMAO. Spot on, mate. This feels like a game designed by a publisher, not a developer.

There are way more of these than actual gamers. It's the perfect strategy.

Yeah, seriously now, it's a sobering but realistic thought. There's a lot of influx from failed wannabe movie directors that get into games in order to pan off their subpart cliched ideas, "because nobody's made that kind of game yet!" These selfsame jackasses never realize that the reason that games don't try to copy movies, because that's THEIR bag, and games aren't movies junior. That's an ass backwards way of looking at the medium, and anyone who claims it's the "evolution" of games, don't realize that devolution is a thing. Games emulating movies is a giant flying leap backwards for the entire genre, and promotes lazy storytelling, writing, and stagnates every genre it infects. QTE heavy, only interactivity being dialogue choices, no actual game elements, or few of them anyway. If a game has no gameplay, it is no longer a game. It is (barely) interactive fiction.

If you can't tell your story in the game's engine, through a way that increases immersion for the player, scripted set pieces in the game to engage the player, then you suck at your job. If your only way to tell a story is to hijack player agency at every twist and turn, you're a lazy hack, and you should maybe consider a career change. People are even getting tired of David Cage games. The whole thing infuriates me, and what infuriates me more, are the apologists or outright fanboys saying that everyone else is behind the times. No, fags, that's not how that works. You don't crash an entire enthusiast culture with your ideas, which probably are neither good nor original to begin with, and expect to be catered to, then cry foul if your products are a financial flop.

Basically, STOP THIS. Sony, you should be ashamed of yourself for promoting this. It doesn't matter how much hardware you sell, if you have no games.

It's really sad, but because people who truly love games know that they can do so much more than any other medium. They can't do everything better than films, theater and novels, but when all the parts come together, it can be a very complete experience. I wonder if these "directors" are driven away from movies because of the film industry's boring trend of lining up explosions and one-liners without any interest in narrative or character development. It's no wonder they just reuse their limited and limiting view of storytelling; 2 hours of alternating action and downtime with a few cool bits for the trailer.

Guess what? Games were better than that more than 15 years ago.

Why? I enjoy all kinds of genres, including The Walking Dead where you barely get any gameplay aside from making dialogue choices. Even this sort of game can be done well, even if it's barely a game at all. What I find to be the best thing about medium is just how much can you do with it - including interactive movies. They all have audience and can be fun if done right.

Just because you don't like it it needs to stop?
