Lemon_Curry: I wonder how much money the top dog of the leader board has spent (roughly calculated) during the sale. What's his/her current exp tally? (I myself haven't opted in.)
The #1 on the leaderboard has 1069370 XP. I have 167780 XP and spent $67.

Lemon_Curry: How buggy is the GOG version of UFO: Enemy Unknown? [...]
Bet (a lot) less buggy than GOG's current Winter Sale.

P.S. I can't seriously answer your question, as I don't have the game.
avatar
klappis: I don't get it what does this have to do with i am not being able to get any XP anymore? Is this a bug?
avatar
PixelHunt: Don't worry, you still get the XP right away. I just made a purchase and can confirm this. However, the loss of the XP counter at the checkout is definitely a bug--a very annoying one! I hope GOG can fix it for everyone before the sale is over.
Thanks PixelHunt to confirm that the xp system is still working.
Thanks GoG a lot for these sales, they were great for me! This bundle crazyness made the homepage unusable so I only checked daily my wishlist and finally bought what I really wanted and which was massively discounted :)
This time I could dodge the "oh this intriguing game is cheap, why not?" effect!

For less than 26€/27$ I got:
X rebirth : Home of Light Complete Edition (-66.7%)
The Witcher : The Adventure Game (-75%)
AI War Collection (-80%)
Shadowgate : Special Edition (-85%)
+ the 3 "freebies" including 2 games that I really wanted.

So that's my 2 cents advice : wishlist all the games that you want, go to your wishlist, filter on "discounted" and check that only. I probably missed some better discount with bundle but also saved lot of time to actually play!

Roxolani: This winter sale was similar to summer sale. Active members could unlock 5000 XP game (Spelunky in summer, Shadow Warrior Classic Redux in this sale). Why fall sale lacked this feature?
avatar
eiii: I don't think you could reach the first bonus game (Shadow Warrior Classic Redux) without having some boost XP from the Fall Sale or buying anything. You could get "free" XP for:

- 500 add 10 games to your wishlist
- 500 share the sale on Facebook or Twitter
- 1000 been here a while (own a GOG account)
- 500 visit gog.com/galaxy
- 500 visit the GOG Wallet page
- 1100 daily check-in's (11 x 100)
- 600 Twitch challenges (2 x 300)

That makes a total of 4700 XP. So you either need a boost from the Fall Sale or buy at least one game to get Shadow Warrior Classic Redux for free. Or did I miss anything?
You're right. But I think GOG gave 500 XP boost to all members who participated in fall sale even if they didn't buy anything (people who unlocked all badges). So you can get SWCR for free.

Thanks for the info. :)

HypersomniacLive: Bet (a lot) less buggy than GOG's current Winter Sale.
That's not saying much. ;)
I just wanted to say that thanks to an awesome stream by Belannaer (which is still live) on GOG's Twitch channel I bought all 4 Anno games :-)
Purchased 2 classic Forgoten Realms bundles to complete my collection and Dark Forces 1&2. Got Dragonfall for free. I say this was a nice sale.

SCM2308: Well, that would be silly to do it in the last hour. The whole point is they were adding games to the total list from the first day of sale of which many people might not even know the start of sale date so why not add more games on sale? You'll be making more happy customers in the end. It even says on the Sale FAQ page that a new list of games are added every 24 hrs. It does not mention the word finale. People who are waiting for their Wishlists to be available will notice. Btw you have games on sale on your list. ;)
It would be equally silly to do in the last day when it's Sunday and GOG's majority of staff members is missing. Hence why they decided to announce the finale before the weekend (and also add even more bundles than the usual rate), so they could (theoretically) react to any issues. It would also give them more time to inform other people, who might have not been aware or have forgotten about it via e-mail, which could take a while to be sent (heck, even nowadays, there are cases of people receiving an e-mail after the sale has ended. Imagine how bad it would be if the encore/finale just lasted one single day).

I've picked up way more than I probably should have this sale, but overall can't complain. I'm just ready for some more releases at this point.

167780 XP for $67 spent? Isn't it 1000 XP per dollar?
Does anyone know if that Pod game works with an Xbox 360 controller?
I dub this sale "Bundle Hell -- or, Bullshit Bundle Bonanza!".

Foxhack: I'm in Mexico, regional pricing affects me. I don't actually have to spend the $23ish to get all the XP I need.
avatar
RWarehall: Yeah, but it will be the translated U.S. equivalent I believe.
In one of the previous XP-giving sales (the summer sale, I think), some of us worked out that XP amounts were static, regardless of any region-based price differences. I assume this hasn't changed.

Usually you get more XP if game isn't selling well or has insignificant discount.
That's from my observation.

You'll get more XP from games that cost more in the U.S. than they do in your region.

Bullshit Bonanza needs to be saved for the next "pot of gold/mystery bundle" promo.
