I like both! Both platforms are unobtrusive to me, although i do agree that when you buy a game, it shouldn't need a client to play it.

Steam has it's good points and bad ones especially when you wan't to play something and shit it's down...

New to Gog,but to be honest with you I think this site is as friendly as (Nexus which is very friendly)

Besides, nobody hates GOG, right? Certain things, perhaps (forum search option definitely deserves some hate), but in general? Mild dislike at most, I'm sure.

This is a bit small to be a megathread, and while I'm not against containing the eternal argument on this sticky, I'd bet we would still get more threads about this.

I personally find the social features of steam kind of annoying, luckily I can avoid most of them. But now I have a coworker as a steam friend, so he'll be able to see it when I'm slacking. Not ideal. To troll?

I don't have a Steam account at all, as I don't approve of online-based DRM. If a game is only available with such DRM, I simply don't buy it, regardless of how much I had been looking forward to it or how good it otherwise may be.

ninja'd. And people hat stuff for no real reason all the time. I hate football, ham and dog shit on the road* , and while I have a (stupid) reason for hating that, I have no real reason to hate Dota 2 and still do.

*Despite that, don't get me wrong, I still like dogs themselves. They're tasty.

We should get more people into this thread. I personally haven't decided yet, so i like them both.

New users will arrive and create new stupid threads about this matter anyway, it's a fact of life. The Thursday thread is something we need to learn to live with.

I have a dislike of steam for specific DRM related incidents that don't require a re-rant.

I use both, DRM is silly but having to execute installer after installer for all your games when you're reloading windows is a pain in the arse. I like the idea of all your games being installed within an application and just having everything backed up in seconds. I'm hoping that Galaxy will make for a more permanent transition to GOG, unless there's something that isn't available anywhere else but Steam and I'm too hyped to wait :p
