Tarm: That's it. That's literally it! Now you've gone and done it and there's no turning back. You really really HAD to do it didn't you?

How the HELL are you going to top releasing The Gold Box games in the future?! Are we seeing the peak of GOG? A time we'll look back to in wonder? GOG gearing itself up for some major nostalgia factor in the future?
Ha ha I'm almost shitting myself here in pure drooling old school RPG feelings. Control of body functions slipping...
By releasing Vampire Bloodlines and all the Dune games. And Blade Runner, of course.

Hmmm... somehow i don't see the gold box as the peak of GoG's success or final releases...

Maybe Questron? Xixit?Jetfighter? All good as i recall... Although Xixit is probably the only one you can play without a manual easily...

They could release Elite, the game of a lifetime.

Emob78: There's always more. After all, every minute that ticks away, another game comes closer to becoming a 'good old game.'

Steam/Origin/Uplay may have a large user base on their side. GOG has time itself on its side. We triumph because we endure.
This last sentence reminded me of a book i read inside Baldur's Gate. Baal and his 2 friends were arguing about who will sieze the throne and Baal said "I will be death, cos everyone dies and I will get stronger with every passsing time" . Or something like that.

Every GOOD game will be "Good Old Game" one day!

Or the X Series, or Mechwarrior series...

MAYBE IF GOG got the Half-life series without compromising the GOG's stance on DRM & and all.

Or maybe Quake series :)

Somehow i don't see that as a big selling point... Maybe the portal series, but not halflife...

Then again, i don't care for halflife and i enjoyed portal... I remember getting the orange box ONLY for portal 1. Later played halflife 2 and found it... okay... Besides... I can see the headlines...

GET HALFLIFE ON GOG!!!... [tiny]10 years after everyone's beaten it and it's gone out of relevancy[/tiny]

Leroux: They could top it by also releasing the Dragonlance, Buck Rogers, Dark Sun, Al-Qadim and Ravenloft games. And Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, Curse of Monkey Island. Followed by Doom 1&2, Heretic, Hexen, and Wolfenstein 3D for all Germans. Then American McGee's Alice and The Neverhood, and a short intermission in which they announce the return of the Fallout games to GOG, along with XIII and Blade of Darkness. And then System Shock, Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen and NOLF as cherries on top. Well, that's just a humble suggestion, I haven't run out of ideas yet. ;)
NOLF and the sequel! And Tron 2.0 and Star Wars Episode I: Racer and Starship Titanic and Oni and....

MORROWIND! :D

Can't think of any single "batch" of games I'd be amazed-excited for, really. The remaining LucasArts games will probably slowly be filled in. There are a couple missing Sierra/Sierra published games still missing (Laura Bow series, Conquest series, Eco Quest series, Mixed Up Mother Goose games, Heart of China, Woodruff & Schnibble, Willy Beamish, Castle/Island of Dr. Brain etc.).

Maybe some games that are simply not available for purchase digitally anywhere. Like someone mentioned American McGee's Alice. Another example is the Legend adventure games- we have Star Control 3 for some reason, but not Eric the Unready (probably the funniest adventure game ever that doesn't have "Monkey Island" in the title). Prince of Persia classics, maybe?

Or maybe if gog got into console emulation in a big way :D.

babark: MORROWIND! :D
Ahh morrowind... one of my best loves of video games :)

Then... over time it became apparent that the world seemed too lifeless, and doing mod programming hacking and helping and lost the spark of mystery when you understand the underlying system of it :(

Although a few mods did help a lot, like Morrowind Comes Alive, making it seem like people were coming and going and doing things and the world was changing in small ways, even if it was an illusion...

He mentioned something interesting... Judas is pursuing new research. He claims what they're doing in Poland is the missing piece: a release to surpass D&D Gold Box.

Where did he say this? As to what it is I think it is probably Bethesda, More EA, More Ubisoft or Microsoft.

Ok, never played MGS so I didn't get it.
