Tarm: How the HELL are you going to top releasing The Gold Box games in the future?!
avatar
Breja: Dune, Dune 2, Emperor Battle for Dune, Dune 2000

But what would really be the peak of GOG (when it comes to old games) would be all he rest of Star Trek games. The Final Unity above all, and then Away Team, Bridge Commander, Borg, Armada, Elite Force, Elite Force 2, Klingon Honor Guard, Hidden Evil, The Fallen, Harbinger. Now that is the GOG's final frontier for me.
The Final Unity would certainly be icing on the cake. I love that game.
I think games like Doom / Quake and Dune etc are still a nice goal / dream... ;)

Bulletstorm .

Matruchus: They could easily top it by releasing classics like C&C Red Alert, C&C: Tiberian Sun, Dune 2000, Dune 2, Warcraft 1,2,3, Emperor: Battle for Dune, etc. Maybe they could finally release Planetar Annihilation: Titans. For me this release was ok but nothing special.

There is always more out there.
*big eyes, drooling mouth* I want those too!

While they would be awesome for me they would not top this. But I certainly can see your view. :)

I haven't played that because I fear it's too much of a console FPS. It would be nice to be wrong on that. :)

They wouldn't release the first 3 C&Cs because they are all now freeware, but they could release all the rest at some point.

It all comes down to me being a bigger fan of Star Trek than D&D. Or even more than that, it's that a really good Trek video game might actually feel like a Star Trek episode or a movie, while a D&D game will never really feel like playing the tabletop D&D. Oh, I'm sure they are great games, and I'm really looking forward to playing them, but not more so than some other RPGs, while something like A Final Unity would take priority over pretty much anything. With no new Trek series in sight those games are the most I can hope for.

Freeware or not, if the rest of the C&C comes here, the free ones will most likely too, mostly as part of the package.

Possibly digital version of the first decade, with RA2, Renegade annd Generals being the ones that make it cost something as they are not freeware.

They are not freeware anymore since EA sells them again as part of C&C Ultimate Collection package and they have been officially removed from the EA site as freeware long time ago. But its true they offered them as freeware for some time.

Edit: They have been removed by EA as freeware already in 2011.

darthspudius: As much as I love Red Alert, I always felt it did some things kind of wrong for the series. The weird plot twist at the end was brilliant though haha.
You know its funny that Red Alert was meant as a prequel to C&C Tiberian Dawn and ultimately spawned a whole new series.

There is always more yes but those games was a big if not the biggest reason RPGs got popular on computers and later consoles. Also I loved them to bits back in the day. :)

I was more thinking along the lines of its controls, enemies, design and so on. I don't like the "feel" of console First Person View games.
But you're giving me hope. Might pick it up on a sale or something.

Truly.
This is a dream come true. When I joined GOG probably my biggest hope was to being able to play old SSI and SSG games again.
