https://storybundle.com/fairytales

Blurb:

Fairytales are near and dear to my heart - but TWISTED tales are even better! As a reader, I love it when authors take the old and familiar and fold it into strange new shapes, flipping the roles of hero and villain, adding unexpected romance, and blending together strands of different classic stories to make something altogether new and enthralling. So when I had the opportunity to curate this collection, I leaped on it like a starving grandma on a poor innocent wolf…

In this StoryBundle you'll find eleven thrilling twists on Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast, Rumpelstiltskin, Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, and more, from award-winning and New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors, which includes an anthology packed with eerie retellings of your favorite tales.

The Best of Lavie Tidhar Bundle

Blurb:

If you decide to take a chance on it, you may have read some of the books before, or maybe you never heard of any of these. But for me, each one was an adventure to write.

The real streets of Central Station in Tel Aviv inspired the novel of that name. Living on the Mekong in Vientiane inspired much of the atmosphere of Gorel & The Pot-Bellied God, and a fascination with the game of poker led to the writing of The Big Blind.

The world of Unholy Land was much informed by the years I spent in south and east Africa, just as my adopted home city of London was a fundamental character in The Violent Century and The Vanishing Kind.

But I cannot, in truth, claim ever to have lived in the Doinklands of The Escapement.

$5

Central Station by Lavie Tidhar
The Violent Century by Lavie Tidhar
The Lunacy Commission by Lavie Tidhar (5 short stories)
An Occupation of Angels by Lavie Tidhar (novella)

The Humorous Fantasy Bundle

Blurb:

I've curated a wonderful bunch of fantasy novels that show the lighter side of epic quests. Sometimes spells go wrong, magic swords have a bad attitude, and dragons just don't behave as they should. You'll have a laugh-out-loud time reading these fun adventures.

These books are amusing enough to put a smile on even the surliest orc's face, and you can name your price for the whole bundle, and a part of the proceeds goes to benefit the Challenger Learning Centers for Space Science Education. – Kevin J. Anderson

The Best of the Indies Bundle

Blurb:

How do you pick "the best" of anything? You can't. Not really. I can't pick "the best of the indies" because I haven't read all of the indie books out there. But "This Awesome Selection of Really Great Self-Published and Small Press Books by a Killer Mix of Debut Authors, Award Winners, and NY Times Best Sellers" was too big to fit at the top of the website. So this is "The Best of the Indies!"

Are these the best books written in the last few years by self-published or small press authors? I have no idea. Are they really, really good books from self-published or small press authors, ranging in experience from debut novels (The Children of Menlo Park) to the 24th novel from a multiple award winner and best seller (Burning Shakespeare)? Yes. One hundred percent. This sampling of awesomeness has everything you could want in a fistful of books, from comedy to drama to mystery to action to love to despair.

The Past Crimes Bundle

Blurb:

In fact, for a vast majority of crime fiction (mystery), the crime has already happened in the past and solving what happened, or who did it, or why the crime happened is the fun of it all.

I personally love past crimes of another category: cold cases. When the question of who done it or why in the normal crime stories doesn't get answered in any satisfying way, the crime becomes a cold case.

But no way did I want to have just cold cases, although I bet that would be a fun StoryBundle down the road. No, I wanted first of all, great crime stories, and second, great writing from top mystery and crime writers.

$5

The Rabbit Mysteries by Leah Cutter
Death in the Serengeti and Other Stories by David H. Hendrickson (short stories)
The Shroud Key by Vincent Zandri
Smoke-Filled Rooms by Kris Nelscott (Smokey Dalton Novel)

$20

Given the SFF tendencies of the people behind story bundle I wondered if some of these might be alternate historical crime, but they all seem straight down the line.
The Summer Fireball Game Bundle

Blurb:

Summer heatwaves make the angry sun in Super Mario Bros. 3 feel as balmy as a spring breeze in comparison. When it's too hot for days at the beach or picnics in the park, embark on an adventure in the books collected in our Summer Fireball game bundle.

Gaming historian Richard Moss dives deep into the secret history of Mac games and chronicles the thrills and toils of managing a football club. Boss Fight Books and author Sebastian Deken connect our fondness for Final Fantasy VI's iconic characters and story in the titular Final Fantasy VI.

Author David L. Craddock collects interviews and oral histories in Game Dev Stories: Volume 7 and Dialogue Boxes—exploring the making of Fallout, the early days of Nintendo Power, and other pivotal titles and epochs of gaming history. All that, plus narrative designer and game journalist Cara Ellison's year-long adventure learning from game developers, Brian Riggsbee takes you on a journey through the history of Rygar, and more.

The Dark SF Bundle

Blurb:

Science fiction has dabbled in utopia before, but never as often as people might think. The early writers' visions of the future were often dire. There was Asimov's crumbling galactic empire in Foundation, or his murder-driven The Caves of Steel with its claustrophobically enclosed city. Philip K. Dick's nightmares took form in print, paranoid horror-like tales of a shifting reality in classics like Ubik or The Man in the High Castle. Richard Matheson's I Am Legend imagined the last man on Earth haunted by vampires.

The writers gathered here have all written some pretty dark stuff in their time, but what I hope you find here is a collection of science fiction tales as fine as any you may wish to encounter here at the start of the new twenties, with all the chaos our reality currently exhibits. This is science fiction with an edge – as science fiction must be, if it is to be relevant! And it comes from some of the top names in the field. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

$5

After the Fall, Before the Fall, During the Fall by Nancy Kress
One Day All This Will Be Yours by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Infinity Wars edited by Jonathan Strahan (short stories)
Genocidal Organ by Project Itoh

$20

The Freeze-Frame Revolution by Peter Watts
The Second Shooter by Nick Mamatas
Skyward Inn by Aliya Whiteley
Martian Sands by Lavie Tidhar
Plague Birds by Jason Sanford
The Fate of Mice by Susan Palwick

--
I'm pretty sure I own the Nancy Kress from a couple of of other bundles, and 2 of the others were in a supermassive humble bundle march last year.

This reminded to have a look at humble books deals, because although they a lot they seem to only send me emails on ones they know I will definitelky not be interested in.

Currently they have Humble Stars of Sci-Fi Summer by Draft2Digital 35 items for $insertlocalpricehere (plus 11 item, 4 item price levels). It says 35 items but it is way more than that since there are many omnibus type books, including a couple of 7 book items. There is some overlap with storybundle bundles as there are a few of the story bungle regulars, including the first 3 of Rusch Diving Universe and Blaze Ward's Science Officer Omnibus. Quite Tempting.
