Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

gscotti: BG is going to be a barn-burner, mark my words. Don't blink!
avatar
dedoporno: I am aware of that, and I'll try to take more than one copies. Let's hope the amount will be a good number - if it's less than Don't Starve or some other slogs I'll be very disappointed.
I think it should be 1800 - IIRC it was 1200 in the 2nd run, and the 3rd is always 50% more than the second. The only exception was, you guessed it, Jack Keane 2, which sold only 25 copies in the 3rd round.
If Omerta comes up with over 300 copies im going to sleep for a few hours.

QQending: waited two days for HOMM5 but missed it twice. Slept for 6 hours and literally just wake up and HOMM5 is on. Yesssssss
glad this worked out for some one! I am going to miss Jade Empires....I just know it...(kicks self for skipping both other times it was around...)

mantarrochen: I remember a mission during the second campaign (as the demonlord) where you had to invade and fight elven heroes. I seriously doubt anything in HoMM 3 could be any more difficult than that single mission alone. ;-P

ForgetDeny: There are special campaigns in HOM&M3 that get unlocked once you've finished the main campaign. You start off with one elf town and an elf hero that you've dealt with a bit previously and are surrounded by ridiculous stacks of high tier monsters and enemies that already fully leveled. Most people I know threw their hands up and gave up in response to its difficulty. I remember the map in HOM&M5 that you're talking about, and whilst it was tricky, it was a doddle in comparison to some of the challenges in HOM&M3.
Ok, this actually sounds more difficult. I learnt something today. :)

dedoporno: Sure, but if it appears at 5AM I'll most likely be long time sleeping. Can't pull another all-nighter...

Knofbath: They've been dropping slow burners overnight, I'd expect Omerta to show up late tonight and keep running until early tomorrow.
Do try to remember that our overnights are our neighbor's daylight brights.

in the global scheme of things... ;)

EX-Deimon: Please, god NO! not The Keaning! *dies*

Faeja_Vu: I think you just helped me realize what it would be to have a Keanception. To be stuck in a Keaning forever. Keaned by Keaning... Keanception! :D
When you are stuck in a Keaning, you are stuck forever.

Minmataro: If Omerta comes up with over 300 copies im going to sleep for a few hours.
You'll have enough time to book a trip to Alaska and back again before it ends.

Did you dream about it before you woke up to it? Happened to me to once or twice with sex... ;P

MasodikTiasma: Since the sale's going slowly, I reckon I have time to ask this:
I own HOMMV on Steam, but the game keeps crashing on Win7 64. I read it's a common issue.

Is the GOG version more stable? Has it been patched recently?

Thanks in advance!
We will do in a couple of weeks, give it a brand new AI: www.eternal-essence.com -- sort of an unofficial 3.2 patch.

By all means get the DRM free bundle from GOG, the mod architecture of Heroes V is pretty complex, can't imagine that Steamworks helps here.
