Insult? It's a fact, why do you think that those ninche games get censored in the west? Let me put it this way:

Glorified violence with adults = ok
Glorified violence with children = shitstorm

Oversexualized adults = ok
Oversexualized children = shitstorm

How is that not insulting? It's pretty obvious what you're implying.

But lets put it another way. What might be "over sexualised" for a prudish society such as the US, is consider mildly sexualised (or even normal) by a country not offended by the idea of having sex. Whereas the idea of going off to shoot guns is considered perfectly normal and healthy in the US (to the point where guns are made specifically for use by children), yet is considered barbaric by other nations.

Neither way of thinking is an excuse to insult the country you consider to be doing things in excess.

Or in other words, stop trying to judge a country based on the norms of your own country. The other country is not your country, so don't expect it to be the same.

I'm implying that moe/lolitas oversexualized (that happens to be in many japanese games) doesn't help because it doesn't sell in the west.

And yet there is nudity in games like God of war, gta, Far Cry and so on, those games do sell. Are you still missing the point? Kids don't want to play stuff that looks that way and adults would find embarrassing to play something that has a sexualised representation of a minor.
I like the Etrian Odyssey gameplay but i'm not a fan of the artwork, especially with those dancers that look like 12 year olds with sexy clothes. Am i being prudish? That wouldn't affect me if they actually looked like an adult...

The discussion is why japanese videogame companies were having difficulties in making good games (like in the past) and i gave the answer, the western audience doesn't want that stuff that appears to be popular over there and instead of going straight to the "overglorified violence" you should have just said something in the lines of "gritty bald space marine".

Funny that from all my posts in this thread you're still hammering that subject, i made it clear that i actually enjoy different media produced in Japan, well, except the moe/lolitas oversexualized...

And oh, you're claiming that i'm offending your country and yet your arguments in this thread was basically US this US that... You do realize that the rest of the world isn't an extension of the US, right? For example, over here (you know, Portugal) we don't have a gun culture but hey, there's a stereotype that everyone gets it right (besides the fishing thing), we like football and that is why that the games that sell better over here is Fifa and Pro Evolution Soccer (made by Konami, full circle complete).

Depressing news. I don't know if they would have made a good Silent Hill game (I have a fairly strict definition of what makes a Silent Hill game...none of them since The Room have even come close, and that one just barely) but I am pretty sure it would have been a good game regardless. Hopefully Kojima can make a similar game where ever he winds up.

i´m not trying to dismiss kojima and his talent, but the next game that he makes will be dissected by both fans and the press, so the hype meter is right there with half life 3

do you think he will try to do what all the "star" developers do when they quit the evil company. Make the spiritual sucesor of... or he will make something else entirely.

currently i´m waiting on mighty number 9 to see if keiji inafune delivers

The saddest news.
Even my friends that don't play games had hopes for silent hills, the PT removal is even sadder since I won't get to play it if I eventually get a PS4.
It's even even sadder that del toro, who clearly loves games and wants to be a part of the scene, has been denied his opportunity yet again. I would love to see a silent hill game infused with Kojima's narrative craziness and Del Toro's flair for beautifully grotesque monsters, but I guess it'll never happen.
Whatever happened with the Kojima+Suda51 snatcher collaboration for that matter?
And just a shameless plug from a huge fan of japanese alt games, killer is dead on gog someday? D4 for PC was just announced, maybe some twitter users could bother SWERY about a gog release?

If Konmai goes the way of THQ the publisher that will most likly purchase thier big games is Sony for both Metal Gear and Silent Hill.
