Riotact: Just in case you were wondering what happens if you delete your d/l..
YES! I still have PT in two of my accounts available for download whenever I get a PS4. There was no need to download it even once which the guy who tested it in the video mentioned, just adding it to the account from the website before removal from the PSN store was enough. :)

themostghost: ... And just a shameless plug from a huge fan of japanese alt games, killer is dead on gog someday? D4 for PC was just announced, maybe some twitter users could bother SWERY about a gog release?
Does Killer is Dead even have a PC version? I'd definitely be interested in some more crazy Japanese gaming goodness.

Elmofongo: If Konmai goes the way of THQ the publisher that will most likly purchase thier big games is Sony for both Metal Gear and Silent Hill.
If Sony get their hands on those franchises, we'll never see them on GOG. :(

CDPR should just buy them themselves. Hah Hah.

At least Capcom don't have their own hardware platform, so there'd still be some hope to see their releases here.

As for Nintendo, wouldn't that be a glorious twist? XD

It almost makes sense, because they could use some good exclusive titles, especially for mature gamers. The Gamecube and even the Wii had some great games for older gamers, but on the Wii U the selection so far is really slim.

But seriously, would be great if CDPR could somehow secure the rights to some of these big franchises -- Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Dark Souls or some Sega franchises? But they're probably not big enough ( yet ), and need to focus on their own projects. I hope they'll make some big stinkin' piles of money with The Witcher 3.

You really think Metal Gear would be in better hands in GOG than Hideo Kojima?

Makes me wonder how they would pull it off.

I wasn't necessarily thinking of an either/or scenario. How about CDPR buys the franchise, and then Kojima ( and Del Toro, in case of Silent Hill ) get back on board and do their magic? And then the finished game is released as a GOG exclusive. Mwa-ha-haa... Yeah, I know, exclusives are evil. Just getting carried away here a little. In the end it's all just wishful thinking. :(

Edit: That said, if CDPR just started their own Horror franchise, that could be amazing too. They've already proven that they are capable of dark and gritty visuals, as well as gore, sex and other "adult" themes. I'm sure they could pull it off. It's about time for a great new Horror franchise -- RE, Silent Hill and the other big names are long past their prime.

Cyraxpt: Funny that from all my posts in this thread you're still hammering that subject, i made it clear that i actually enjoy different media produced in Japan, well, except the moe/lolitas oversexualized...
*sigh* It doesn't matter if you like something else from Japan or not. You're still not getting the point. For one thing, moe has nothing to do with sexualisation. Perhaps you should look it up. It's fairly clear to me that trying to talk about this with you is a waste of time. So I'll leave it at that.

As far as the main subject of this thread, Konami could stop making games tomorrow and still remain in business. Like Valve they have plenty of money to throw around without the need to develop games. In fact, I expect many would be rather surprised at just what Konami are involved in (traditional games are only a very tiny drop).

And if people are interested in that, then all they need do is look at Konami's website...

Also for the record, Kojima is not the first big name to leave Konami's game related business this year. Two (potentially bigger, as far as Japan is concerned) names already left. One of which even went so far as to complete change their "work" name so as to have a truly fresh start.

The man that made Castevania and Team Silent?

kojima's metal gears are wildly uneven though
they ping pong between great and what in the name of god was that all about ?

and im pretty confident cd projekt red could do justice to the series

Arguably the best game in the series is MGS3. It had deep gameplay wise and still offered a cinematic story.

Sadly the flawed 3DS port of the game (increadibly low Framerate) is technically the best version because of the more moderned controls introduced in MGS 4. (Snake can walk while crouching which is a godsend for people who want to move fast while blending in the bushes.)

Its pretty much accepted that MGS2 Sons of Liberty is the weakest of the series.

Despite its flaws I also still love MGS 4. It was the game I bought a PS3 for and it was worth it.

Phantom Pain better be awesome. Everything I see is just too good to be true. Giant open world levels for players to tackle a mission in anyway you want. They are trying to outclass the gameplay concept of Deus Ex and Thief.

MGS 5 better be the true Next Gen experiance.

Well, acording to wikipedia it's an adorable/cute little girl, they even give a example of a Moe girl.

Moe Girl

Do you know what reminds me? Those girls from Etrian Odyssey...

Picture one

Picture two

But hey, you're right, you will call me prudish, we'll go in circles and it will never end, this conversation is a waste of time.

That was what made me buy it. Then regret it. i even avoided spoilers and any reviews just to have a fresh experience. What a let down. Oh well at least my model was backwards compatible until the Bl-Ray and HD died like 9 months later.

MGS 3 was my favorite despite falling way way in the "Interesting gameplay mechanics" department.

Also Konami is no stranger to fucking up the Silent Hill series. I mean cmon, they broke up Team Silent to go work on Japanese cell phone games.

The released an "HD collection" that only had half the games that wouldn't run well.

Even then it failed so hard they had to give refunds.

After 5 months.

But only for one console

And you had to have a receipt.

And it was still broken

Fuck Konami.
