Well, frame pacing issue is still here, but at least they fixed loading times, yes.

I would say "fixed", it was 45s before and now it's 30~35s, it's something but i would say that around 20s would be ok. Oh, and allowing to travel to different points also, having 2 loadings just to get to one place is too much.
That said, yeah, the game is better now and at least now has a decent framerate for coop.

Cool thanks for the info, I guess thats the best they can do given the limitations of the console hardware. Atleast the game is playable with a consistent framerate so that it isn't detrimental to the experience anymore.

This was my first thought when reading the news. Overwhelmed by a zombie company, a terrible way to go.

There, now i can say that i've beat the demo of a game that won't come out and yes, i did use a guide for some parts (i still don't understand how i did the last part).

Well if konami goes the way of THQ makes me wonder what will happen to their IPs?

Rival Japanese Publishers will step in? Capcom, Namco Bandai, Tecmo Koei, Nintendo?

Kojima & Del Toro could have been an amazing team-up. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but this seems like a missed opportunity for Konami ( and for all fans of the Horror genre ).

That said, what's going on lately with Japanese game studios in general? Maybe they're doing all right in Japan, but from a global point of view, they all seem to be struggling and making all the wrong decisions. :(

Well the comments Keiji Inafune said about the Japaneses game industry certainly did not help.

"The long and the short of it is that Inafune thinks that things are improving in Japan, but not by much. “I hope Japanese game developers are breaking through the stagnation,” he told IGN. “However, the reality isn’t as good as I want it to be. I see they’re starting to be aware of the problem and that they have to do something. They know they have to learn more from western games and create games that’ll sell more in the western market. However, they don’t know what to do or how to do it.”

Inafune continued, stating that “Even worse, their pride gets in the way, preventing them from learning from overseas developers. As a result, they end up staying in the domestic market rather than going global.”

Inafune admits that the western media asking the same question over and over again can actually be an important tool in fixing whatever’s wrong in the Japanese gaming industry, as every time the question is asked, it’s clear that things haven’t improved much. “Overseas media have been asking the same question for a long time; is Japan’s game industry okay? Are Japanese brand games dead? The fact they’ve been asking these questions for a while is because they care and they’re worried about it,” Inafune admits.

“So we much appreciate the fact that the world is concerned, however, [Japanese developers] still don’t really get it. Some developers are saying [the] Japanese game industry is still doing fine, but that’s wishful thinking. Words are not enough, we must act and prove it. Unless at least a few titles from Japan make it to the top 10 games of the year worldwide, we won’t prove it.”

Personally i think that between PS3 being hard to develop and the big mobile boom that happened in Japan is what made the current state of japanese games.
Oh, and that moe/lolitas oversexualized they got going over there doesn't help...
