XIII is now available again on GOG.COM!

The President of the United States of America has been assassinated and you're the world's prime suspect. The FBI, the CIA, and a gang of murderous killers are trying to hunt you down. Stricken with amnesia you remember nothing, not even who you are. You're on your own and there is no one you can trust. All you have is a safe deposit key, a mysterious tattoo, and a gun. Clear your name, solve the mystery, and catch the true assassin before he strikes again.

BranjoHello: For me personally it's a price I'm not willing to pay at this moment for a game that I have finished in the past but would one day return to, in order to finish it in the highest difficulty.

TheMonkofDestiny: That's sound reasoning. I didn't want to say "but it's the price of a piece of day old toast you'd find under the couch" or something similar that people in the US like to throw around when not factoring in that just because it seems small in dollars and cents doesn't mean it is in currencies that aren't those.
It's not a matter of currency as its a matter of "consumers buying power" (I'm sure there's a better name for this but I just can't recall it right now xD).
That's why I used the beer comparison, so that you get some feeling of the "actual money weight".
Beer costs the same in Serbia and in Denmark. But people in Denmark earn 10 times more than people in Serbia. The only reason why people in Denmark aren't alcoholics is because they are too happy with their lives to become ones. xD

Cool! Pity I'm no fan of XIII anymore. :P

zeffyr: Nice surprise, after so many years... Thank you, GOG! :)

EDIT: I checked, XIII was removed 1.01.2013... almost 7 years ago!
That was GOG's seven years of bad luck for the "gog's done, we're going to the monastery" stunt, and now the seven years punishment is up and XIII is back. It's nothing but good for GOG from now on :D

unless they decide to do some stupid shit

SpecShadow: Maybe there will be hope for other lost titles, like Original War and Severance - Blade of Darkness?

avatar
OP-2019: Yeah, it seems ok, but no out-of-the-box widescreen support? Hmmm ...
avatar
SpecShadow: it's a feature from unofficial 1.4.2 patch
Ah, OK, thank you. Didn't know that.
Welcome back!

Hope the next re-release will be Blade of Darkness.

*Fingers crossed. I love that game* It's the Dark Souls of games before Dark Souls.
I've been waiting for this to be re-released here since I began using GOG six years ago! Thanks so much! Scoring it before it's gone again! ;D

also Second Sight
I kicked myself in the balls for years (metaphorically) for not buying this game the last time it was on sale.
Thaaanks GOG!
Own the original release but happy others have the chance now. It has some funk old console port issues of course, but the underlying game is very fun. Hope it's not altered to be re-released though.

It looks like the same product ID as the original release. Even has the old reviews from before it was removed.

Hope so too. If somebody could do a checksum on both the rerelease and original GOG installers, that would be great. Cheers

Installers have been changed.

Previously installers were 3 files (exe + 2 bin), total size: ~1.9 GB.
Now installers are 2 files (exe + 1 bin), total size: ~2.2 GB.

However, changes may well have to do with GOG's internal installer changes since 2013.
