I love the sound of a Chainsword in the morning.

Warhammer 40K: Sanctus Reach & Warhammer 40K: Armageddon are now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, for up to 75% off until February 27, 2PM UTC.
Welcome to Sanctus Reach. The bloodthirsty Orks have nearly wiped out humanity from the entire system. But the Space Wolves still stand fast. Push back the greenskins in hectic, 3D turn-based battles where every tactical choice can be fateful. Or side with the savage Orks in the Legacy of the Weirdboy DLC before you crash them again as Castellan Jakren Stein in the Sons of Cadia DLC.

Armageddon transports you to the Second War of Armageddon, where the Imperium must defend itself against the advancing Ork invaders. Hex-based, tactical combat, starring iconic characters and over 300 unit types, will pull you into this brutal universe for hundreds of hours. Keep playing with Untold Battles, the FREE DLC included in the base game, or challenge yourself further with the additional missions in Vulkan's Wrath, Angels of Death, Glory of Macragge, Ork Hunters, and Golgotha.

Or get the stand-alone expansion Da Orks, a tale of blood and wanton destruction, starring our favorite space-barbarians.

F4LL0UT: Last I checked that one was a console exclusive. And it's not good. Even in coop with my girlfriend we didn't enjoy it much. That the game is so bad only makes a PC port even less likely.
Then again:

F4LL0UT: Fire Warrior is pretty shitty, I even replayed it recently (I actually own it boxed and even still have that Kais figurine from the limited edition lying around somewhere) and no amount of nostalgia could salvage it.

Agree on the Dawn of War series, though. I'd buy a complete package of the first game blindly, especially if it came with Galaxy support (which the devs should be able to pull off as they also patched in Steamworks not that long ago).

Alas, all these games you've listed are owned by SEGA and thus we're not any closer to getting those.
I sadly never had the chance to play the full versions of these games, I did only see the demo of Fire Warrior at a friend. In that time I did have an older PC, whit a slow graphics card. That is why I only played mostly 2D games or simpler/older 3D.

Later I finally managed to buy a relatively decent new computer and could try the Dawn of War demo version. Wow, what a game.

And for that twin-stick shooter I found it here:

EDIT: ah, Grargar was faster :D

athineos: Also, is it true that Da Orks and Armaggeddon do not have a single player skirmish mode so the replay value is not good after finishing the campaigns? Chaos gate and Rites of war had more replay value
Ugh, you've caught me slightly off-guard here, 'cause I just don't remember if Armageddon and Da Orks do have Skirmish mode (just because I played 'em only in Campaign). Reviews say they haven't.

Well, it's a flaw, of course, but IMO not really so big one it may seem. You could get 'em now on sale here, DRM-free, and these are really the best implementations of tabletop WH40K (along with Sanctus Reach) on PC for now. No need of Dawn(s) of War and similar nonsense. With all DLCs (it's a shame though they don't come as Gold Edition pack or something) it'll take you hours and hours and hours to play them through.

And I wouldn't say AI is as weak as reviews say. I play strategic games mostly, and I assure you there are many and many TBS games that have much worse AI than Armageddon/Da Orks do. Programming AI is one of the most hard and intricate tasks in strategy games developing, and there are not much guys who are capable to do it on decent level.

If I am not mistaken, Sanctus Reach does have skirmish mode. On the opposite, I am not sure for Armageddon and the other iterations.

I would disagree here. Speaking from experience with Arm and having just purchased SR and playing a night or two, the AI is bottom third of any strat/tac wargame I have ever played. Blindly charging into firing lines is one thing, perhaps even justifiable based on the source materiel (its not, but I can grant it if someone wants to say orcs just charge everything) but leaving unit support, leaning on broken units to hold the middle, almost never using "special" attack opportunities... its poor at best.

As a representation of the rule set for table top, sure its better than DoW to no end. But they are different types of games. I think thats the right expectation, that its at tabletop sim, but be prepared to sit across from the guy that never played the game and just walked into the hobby shop.
Damn, totally missed this port. And it seems it actually came out before I bought the game for PS3, dang. My point of Kill Team being a shitty game still stands, though.

Yeah, dang. I have no idea how I managed to miss its PC release.

AlbertoSlitherine: Hi all

avatar
tburger: BTW - I cannot see manuals on games' pages and they are included on Steam...
avatar
AlbertoSlitherine: Apologies about that, they weren't flagged on the site to contain the manuals but they actually do.

The product pages also show up as containing the manuals.
No need to apologize. I'm glad it was just an overlooking.

Armageddon purchased. For now it's enough... but worry not - I'm a long-runner. I'll get all those fancy DLCs and other games on my shelf rather sooner than later :-D
I don't see my beloved Blood Angels on the DLC. Does anyone know if they are playable? Thanks in advance.

They seem to play a role in the main campaign:
[...] Throughout the campaign you will also be joined by three chapters of Space Marines: the Salamanders, Blood Angels and the Ultramarines.
300+ unit types representing Armageddon Steel Legion, the Orks, Blood Angels, Ultramarines and Salamanders Space Marine chapters and even Titans!
That said, this expansion is probably the main one you want. I didn't look at the others, so maybe they're playable in some smaller way in some of the other DLC, too.

Ah, thanks a lot. I assumed that DLC was for the death angels (just read the titles and didn't click on them)
Maybe one day we'll get Blood Bowl here.

You probably need to replace some symbols with their code. Here are some I need to look up frequently:

(Edit: Effing hell... And of course the forum replaced the code, even when not in a link... -.- Let me try posting them with spaces added.):

# (Hashtag/Number sign)
& #35 ;

( (Left parenthesis)
& #40 ;

) (Right parenthesis)
& #41 ;

: (Colon)
& #58 ;

GOG's forums are the pits! Dear GOG: Just switch to Discourse, please.

That's the Rugby one right? Have it on steam, it's pretty fun.

Thank you but yes I'm familiar with Unicode. (edit: The real Unicode, not the piles of poo version.) The forum software translates it fine. It just likes butting brackets in at the wrong places and if you fix it, it'll do it again.

edit: I was just linking to the wishlist search for the game. It's in there 7 different ways so I just get the url of the search. It included a space but the software coded it fine.
