There is no real win without some kind of sin.

Sins of a Solar Empire®: Rebellion Ultimate Edition, a sprawling hybrid of real-time and 4x strategy, is now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 60% launch discount.

Nothing stays hidden for long under the sun. Certainly not the questionable deeds of space-faring Solar Empires. Unsurprisingly, these deeds are of conflict, galaxy-wide power struggles and unquenchable expansionism. Of wars that decide the fate of whole star systems, fought through formidable fleets, financial means, or even diplomacy.

Sins of a Solar Empire®: Rebellion Ultimate Edition provides the perfect mix of the urgency associated with RTSs and the careful planning commonly found in 4x games. It includes Sins of a Solar Empire®: Rebellion along with the Forbidden Worlds & Stellar Phenomena DLC, bringing additional planets to explore, more dramatic random events and new deep space anomalies. The package also offers the game's epic soundtrack on MP3 and FLAC, to help set the mood for your intergalactic adventures.

Conquer the galaxy and commit your own Sins of a Solar Empire®, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Pull it into orbit with the 60% launch discount that will last until December 16, 1:59 PM GMT.

Niggles: Nice release!! (been waiting for this....).... odd question.. remember reading a fair while back... wasnt there something about Trinity > Rebellion in terms of small things? (changes in graphics etc...) - cant recall the comments made....:/
Yeah, Rebellion is the final version of Sins of a Solar Empire with updated graphics, splitting each faction in to two sub factions (aka one centered on offense and other on defense), addition of Titan class ships and some new victory conditions to choose from. If you have to choose between the two versions of the same game buy Rebellion instead of Trinity which is here just for a cash grab.

Krimzon14: I bought this game on Steam, and while I have had an absolute blast putting over 100 hours into it, and as much success as the developers, Ironclad Games deserves, it wasn't until after I bought this game that I learned that the CEO of the publisher, Stardock, is a terrible person. He is known for being a horrible sexist and using his followers to harass people online. He even publicly offered a job to a comic artist because that artist made a gross revenge-porn comic about a woman he disliked and if I had known all of this before I bought the game, I would never have done so.

If Ironclad Games were to find another publisher for this game and/or future games, I would be more than happy to buy from them again, as they are clearly a very talented team that seems stuck with a clearly terrible publisher CEO. He is someone I feel does not deserve any more of my money. I just feel everyone should know this so you all can make properly informed purchasing decisions, in case this kind of information would be a deal-breaker for any of you from buying this game.
This is a game store, not a political debate site. Take your SJW criticism somewhere else. That aside I have been waiting for this game to be on here for a while.

Awesome! Good to see Sins is now available DRM-free. :) I also look forward to seeing how well Galaxy support works for the online servers...

This is the definitive version, no other iterations are needed to access everything.

As it turns out, those allegations were deemed invalid by the court. The case of the one who filed the lawsuit was dismissed, and she was judged for unlawful misconduct. The participants on that issue in the gaming media (especially Kotaku), of whom fanned the flames and spread that (mis)information, were forced to apologize for dogpiling on Mr. Wardell. They essentially attacked him opportunistically, because he has a pro- Gamergate stance.

That whole case of publicized drama is really just another feud between pro- and anti- Gamergate factions. It has nothing to do with the game's quality, nor with the people who actually developed and continue updating it.

Well, it's certainly not a 'political debate' because calling out sexism in an industry/community rife with it is simply trying to make that industry/community a better, safer place for those who have to deal with that kind of thing constantly. It's like a terrible plague that you can see only when you really understand it. When you understand what it looks and sounds like. Phrases like 'political debate' and 'SJW' are just your sad little buzzwords for a person/people who still have empathy and actually care about making things better, trying to genuinely improve this industry/community whereas you simply wish to maintain the current state of affairs because for some reason, you feel threatened by the thought of having to share your hobby with women and other minority people, even though there's no real reason for you to feel that way. You call it 'politics' when there's simply nothing 'political' about trying to makes video games safe and enjoyable for everyone. Especially for those who face vile harassment because of their gender and such. You can call me everything in the goddamn dictionary, but that won't stop me from trying to make things better and keep people feeling safe and welcome in this industry/community. That is all I have to say to you and anyone else who disagrees with what I have to say. Because as you said, it's not a debate, so there's no reason for you to try and make a counterpoint. Happy holidays! :)

Dude, that shit pre-dated Gamergate by years. It started in December 2010 and the legal case was settled in September 2013. Gamergate didn't begin until August 2014.

[EDIT] Dates.

That's true. My point was that parts of the discourse more or less mimicked the behavior between the factions. I was just using the terms to describe each side's behavior and standpoint, as they would later correlate towards. Maybe it's a mistake to try defining people in that way, though... It might have been better for me to not address it at all. I didn't want other people to get a false impression of the situation, since this is mostly an American issue leaking into an international site... But perhaps it's pointless for me to think about it that way. I'll trust that people here are smart cookies, and can figure out what's really being said on their own. (Or if it's even worth bothering with.)

I dont have time to read your whole sob story about what some moronic woman did. This is all in the past and whats done is done. We are here to talk about the game. not what the CEO did. Again, go to another site and whine there. Im not against woman or anything except those that want to destroy us. so piss off with your accusations about me.

We've been sharing this hobby with women and 'minority people' for a long time. Peddle your bullshit elsewhere.

I wanted to load this up on two computers in my home to play a multiplayer game with my wife and I. Does it have any sort of copy protection or should I purchase a second copy while the sale is on? Either way works, though if I can play in my own home on two computers with the same game I will. If I need two, I'll do that too.

I mean, the whole point of GOG is DRM-free games, so... you're fine.

It's GOG, so you can make personal backups or buy multiple copies if you desire. The game also runs just fine on LAN, so no worries about needing to fiddle with internet.

Right on!

As an "other minority people," I'm so happy that Stardock is once more DRM-free with their releases on GOG, as it's one of my favorite publishers/developers. This political drama proven to be concocted by an extreme few need not damage just how enjoyable these games are, nor how talented the people who work to make and publish these games are.

Hoping for a Sins sequel that better makes use of modern hardware!

DRM is not copy protection; DRM is about ownership, while copy protection is about checks to make sure you aren't copying the game, mainly for online play. I can't play Age of Wonders III with my wife on two different computers, as one example. We have two copies of that title. In the same regard I was simply curious about this one too.

So unlike Age of Wonders III I don't need two copies to play online? I had to go out of my way to have two copies of that on two accounts in order to play it online with the both of us.

I guess I'll give it a test to see. Just wanted to clarify.

There is no campaign. You can play a number of premade maps or randomly generated maps.
