Impaler26: WTF? This is the same soundtrack that's included for free with the original version of PS:T which you also get when buying the "EE" version. So why would anyone pay 10 bucks for the soundtrack alone?
The newly offered soundtrack is remastered and 'tracks are provided in both MP3 (320 kbit) and lossless FLAC format' whereas the soundtrack included as a goodie for the original game runs at 192 kbps*.

*Except for the 38th, and final, track 'Credits' which runs at 128 kbps (and, surprisingly, isn't included in the remastered version).

throAU: I attempt to run the game on Ubuntu 16.04 and it doesn't launch. If i manually run start.sh i get this:

Torment: error while loading shared libraries: libjson.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Any ideas?
I don't use Ubuntu and I haven't downloaded the game yet.

In general, the easiest way without breaking the system is to download libjson. Extract its contents (DON'T INSTALL) and then copy the missing file to the lib folder inside the game's folder.

start.sh script should take care loading libraries in that folder. If not add the following to the beginning of the script (but after the line starting with #!):
# Add shared object libraries to path
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/[your user name]/GOG\ Games/[game installation folder]/lib

EDIT: You will need the i386 version.
If you already own other infinity's Enhanced Editions, the missing library file could be there for you to copy.

Crosmando: Why on earth do they keep using the zoom feature? All it does it blur the pixels. Is there anyone alive who seriously uses the zoom feature?
Yes, me. Yes, graphics are not very pretty, but it's helpful in fight situations to get a better overview by having an option to have a closer look. The same for smaller objects. My eyes are bad, so I really appreciate any features like resizable texts or zoom features. That's much better to play in a lower resolution (standard solution) or to get very close to the monitor. Optional comfort functions should always be welcomed.

I don't see the code for the original version. Isn't it supposed to appear in the account?

liquidBass: Please note that Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack is already included in Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition which you own. - What's this now? I don't get it. I don't see the soundtrack in there.
yeah, i'm wondering myself where the Soundtrack is?
Thought it was included with the Enhanced Edition.
Or do i need to buy it seperatly?

mystral: Maybe the "Enhanced Editions" are useful for letting non-windows gamers play the IE games more easily, although I seem to remember that the originals had Mac versions and that most of the IE games worked fine in Wine (but maybe I'm wrong about that).
However, being a Windows gamer myself, I really don't care about that, and I'm far more interested in developers that can actually make new games. After all, with the rise of crowdfunding, we've seen plenty of new RPGs, and I don't see how remaking old games that worked fine before adds anything to the market.
The games run fine in Wine, but modding in wine isn't fun. Easier solutions are always welcomed. After releasing four enhanced editions for now it seems there is a demand for such releases. Also it allows younger generations to get in touch with such great games. Yes, they also could mod the old versions, but it seems most people don't want to spend the time for research how to mod, they want a carefree solution. And that exactly are the enhanced editions. Not every developer is good in creating new games, so what's the problem to make old games more playable and interesting for younger generations? Btw, that reminds me of Jeff Vogel, who also enhance and re-release his old games.

You need to buy it separately.

You can use the zoom lock in the options if it's anything like the other ee's, so you don't accidentally zoom.

I never really played that far into the original which means I'd like to start over with just this one, but did they play around with the scripts, quests?

BrokenBull: Who doesn't already own the original anyway? へ‿(ツ)‿ㄏ
It's been on here long enough and went through many sales for making it available for everyone.
I welcome an EE because I like to have an updated version with new graphics and (hopefully) better controls and more content, options, etc.
IMO, they should just make the old version free if they made an EE. Just look at Spelunky and Cave Story; they have updated versions and the old versions are free.
i find it a dangerous argument... i mean, your "oh, the old version was on the store for long enough time now, peeps interested in the old version should already have bought it by now"

games are like music, or movies and such... sometimes some peeps manage to share their passion and have younger audience or previously clueless audience discovering what they liked themselves
it happens everyday.
Some people may have liked the neverwinter mmo and may had no clue about games that were released 20 yers ago... Then some of their older relative, or friend, or big brother/sister would tell them that there were older games at the roots of what they are liking now.
And thanx to gog, those games (the old ones) are playable on modern machines, making it easy and less painful for non tech-savy peeps to enjoy them even now. Some of those games are completely enjoyable even now, despite of graphics or maybe with applying a little resolution fix/mod

with digital distribution, such "passing on the legacy" of cultural products may dissapear, no more "rumaging through grandpa/old uncle's stash in the attic" anymore. And it's bad. If you replace/obfuscate every old classic with new sort of remakes/remasters.
IT's like i would make a 2017 remake of some classics like bridge of kwai river or gone with the wind, or a dubstep redux of mozart's work and say: ok, lets bury the old versions, they are not interesting anymore as we have the new thing now, everyone who were interested before should already have them.

No, this is a dangerous argument One have to give peeps th choice, and also the means to compare. and yes, i know the old edition is bundled with the EE one, but purchasing the new one, with a higher price tag is mandatory, hence biasing any comparison or assessement by putting it behind a paywall and nullifying the need or point in comparing No need checking if old version is nice enough for you, as you were forced to buy both at once...

i got the classic version at once when i registered in 2014 , i prefer classic versions anytime, sometimes i might get a EE but usually at a decent % off ( 50% or so if possible)

Classics versions must carry the sales i guess, in away they actually 'admit' the classic version was the best, thats why the publishers don't want to sell the classics seperately any longer when a EE version is released.

I also have the original retail cd, i bought it as soon as i saw it in the shops ( retail shops were the place to get games in the past ( 70s-90s) now it's common to buy digital only ( online downloads) .

you can, it costs £14.99, and you get the EE version as a bonus.
