The legend is reborn.

Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition, the return of the most celebrated RPG of all time, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

A layered story laced with philosophical undercurrents. A fantasy setting unlike any other. One of the most memorable casts of eccentric, interconnected characters. This is Planescape: Torment, the gold standard for narrative-driven RPGs of the past 18 years. And now it's back!
Beamdog and lead designer Chris Avellone joined forces to update the game with fixes, enhancements, and key additions, all in sync with the original vision of this timeless masterpiece. With a remastered soundtrack, a crisp 4K interface, and neat convenience features, the Enhanced Edition is coming to captivate a new audience and remind its dedicated fans why they just can't seem able to take it off their all-time favorites list.

Additionally, *hear* the Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack – a remastered masterpiece by Mark Morgan, one of gaming's most legendary composers.

Note: Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition features the unaltered original version and the Enhanced Edition in one definitive collection exclusively on GOG.com.

Not a single goodie/extra? C'mon GOG, you can do better.
Planescape: Torment Midnight Edition
There we go.

Now please sort things out with Cosmic Star Heroine.

And there goes the up-to-now separately and cheaply available original P:T and comes the evil Beamdog to embrace, extend and extinguish - erm, sorry, that would be MS - let me rephrase - "embrace" and keep under bigger price point unavailable without buying their own hacked version. While the remakes may be good (after 1 year of patches) this is a thing that I really hate.

The original games should be available just like they used to be.

They've added several to the description now. :)

They must have cut some kind of deal so that the enhanced editions are not directly competing with the old versions. That's understandable from the perspective of a small publisher. It's not like they are making the old editions unavailable *or* expensive. The enhanced editions have frequently been on sale for 75% off (4.99 USD). Is that really so expensive? That's cheaper than the originals were at full price. So what if the enhanced editions are $20 when they first come out--they'll be on sale within a year, and anyone who misses the old versions but doesn't want to pay a lot for the new one can wait until then. It's entirely logical for them not to want to have both editions being sold at the same time, with one half the price of the other and undercutting their investment in an enhanced edition.
So, how's thee game? Bugs? Content? Did they change anything?

So I was browsing the reviews and I see a one-star rating, followed by "Beamdog is a parasite" and ending with "[the game] runs fine." I only expect a one-star rating if the game has crippling bugs or otherwise shows poor quality all around. These fanatical attacks on Beamdog need to stop, or at least be confined to a more appropriate space, such as a thread in these forums where all these people can freely form a circle jerk and throw around these masturbatory, hate-filled, redundant comments ad nauseam. As they stand, they detract from the overall quality of reviews, make it harder for consumers to know if they're buying a functional product and thus make an educated purchase, and reflect extremely poorly on GOG users in general, even though this is clearly just a vocal and disruptive minority.

Please note that Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack is already included in Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition which you own. - What's this now? I don't get it. I don't see the soundtrack in there.

And it's equally logical for me to not give a rat's bleeding arseh*le about Beamdog's interests. If they can't compete on a level playing field then they deserve to go out of business.

What an amazing coincidence, so does the original.

As for the rest of your rant, that's exactly how I feel about people who preorder.

From what I'm reading so far, it seems they didn't mess the game like they did with their previous work. Out of all the D&D games PS:T has always been my favorite, mainly due to it's uniqueness in story and setting. I'm definitely picking this up at the end of the month :-)

Sounds to me like someone doesn't want anyone else to have an opinion. This is exactly the type of human shield which allows companies to re-release old games ad infinity with absolutely nothing done to them. If you happy paying £15 for a game that only an hour ago was less than half that price just for someone to apply a widescreen mod to it, then that says enough. There has been a fully functioning product here for years, just like the other infinity engine games, all you are doing is not just freely throwing money around for nothing, but actively defending a total lack of creativity and flagrant fleece of customers.

As for reviews they are pointless at any stage and can safely be avoided always.
