Attacked on Titan.

FLASHBACK™ is now available, only on GOG.com, 10% off until January 3rd.

As resilient as its scientist protagonist, legendary platformer FLASHBACK™ returns in its 25th anniversary with a Modern mode! This optional mode brings a post-FX graphic filter, remastered music and sound, tutorials, and a Rewind function which should make your attempt at escaping Titan slightly easier.

FLASHBACK™ is a timed GOG.com exclusive.
"FLASHBACK is a timed Gog.com exclusive."

What do you suppose that means?
The game seems to have achievements even if they aren't reported in the Game Features, can anyone confirm?

fortune_p_dawg: very pleased with this remaster. everything seems to work well, the majority of the new stuff is optional, plus -- save slots!

LuciusP: re-Mastering this game is just as amusingly frustrating as I remember, and the "street art" feature is a nice addition.
Could you disable every fancy new feature and just play it like running the original game in DOSBox?
If so, I surely will buy it.

That today it's exclusive to Gog but in a couple of day, weeks, or months (most likely weeks) it will appear on other online store.

But of course, there's always that one little area that's harder to get to than the rest, and I'd hate to go an entire level just to miss one. If anybody has any ideas - as seen in the attached photo - I'm happy to listen :)

Again, a great game, very happy with the purchase.
In the middle platform, just run to that ledge without worrying about jump. You will autojump to it.

It does.

You can disable most of the things except the shiny street points and a reminder button that you can skip cinematics. Nevertheless, it's not exactly the DOS version, or at least the sound effects are not the same.

Thank you!

This release is a sloppy and disappointing cash grab. I'll stick with REminiscence or an emulator.

I think you'll have to do a little better than that. So far people seem to be pretty receptive, also the price is pretty low as far as remasters go. What's so sloppy and disappointing that justifies calling it a "cash grab"?

have you actually played it or are you being a scowling contrarian for the sake of being a scowling contrarian?

Do better than what? I don't know why you think I owe you anything.

I've played the original, I've played REminiscence and I've seen the video and the screenshots for this release. That's plenty enough to make an experienced judgement.

Do you always accuse people of being "scowling contrarians" because they don't agree with your opinions?

Cool. I'm very likely to pick this one up, especially as this will be a well-regarded brand new old game for me. I've read about the game quite a few times over the years, and I've even played through its (pseudo?-)sequel Fade to Black, but I've never had the opportunity to play Flashback before.

Considering the discount goes on for an entire month, I have a strong feeling that GOG's winter sale is just around the corner. ;)

i could just answer that question with a yes, no, or maybe, but it wouldn't make a difference. either way, the answer would be stupid and you probably realize that.

instead let me answer your question by asking a question: do you always accuse things that might not be to your taste of being a "sloppy cashgrab" with naught but anecdotal evidence?

I wasn't aware that was an official exam. Pardon me for expressing an opinion.
