Rixasha: What is this best played with? keyboard? gamepad? joystick?
My preference is gamepad by a wide margin, using the d-pad instead of the joystick.
If I still had the adapter, I'd have my old Genesis controller hooked up to this.

Using a PS2 controller myself but it doesn't really matter. I used to play Little Fighter 2 with WASD and VBN and it worked perfectly fine.
Played it for an hour and had a lot of fun, Enemies grow tougher at a reasonable pace, moves have a lot of versatility and you have a lot of recovery and counters as well as being able to cancel certain attacks which can be a life saver in certain situations.

Also a lot of fun being able to into from a regular attack into a special attack an then being able to chain back into base attacks. Also nice work with being able to take advantage of corners to really beat someone down, early games normally just gave the enemy an invincibility window to get out of tight spots.

Yeah, nailing someone to a wall and pounding onto them feels pretty good. It's also rather required to do that in the elevator section.
People, people...take a deep breath and calm down, okay? :P

The way some of you react really is beyond me.
Oh well, I'll just get back to enjoying the games soundtrack!

Does the game include an option to tone down or disable the excessive environment shake?

That's pretty much the only thing preventing me from adding this one to my shopping list. Though I am also wondering about:

Gekko_Dekko: so, did anybody success at running this on steam under wine?
(Or more to the point, does the GOG version of this game currently work under Wine?)
No boob physics no buy . :p

What shaking are you referring to? I probably haven't even noticed it.

But they bounce, as is natural.

Apparently it doesn't start in that proton thing of theirs, but one of those reports does say "Works fine in WINE" so perhaps it does.

I'd like to know myself, don't feel like spending 10€ just to find out it doesn't :/

Get your asses out in the real world and start doing anything useful for a change,
Well said. Only that... the real world seems to be becoming like that as well. Unfortunately.

Can't you just try and request a refund if it doesn't (and they can't help you)?
And we Mega Drive owners still got this before Paprium...

I just picked it up. Not sure about the Steam version, but the GOG release runs beautifully using WINE for me.

Thanks, seems to run fine for me too. Doesn't pick up a controller but that's not a big surprise. I can probably set it up somehow.
I'm currently at the very end of the arcade mode (still didnt beat final boss though), really glad that there are also mid-level save points (where you can continue after losing all lives).

So far I think that I've got only two minor issues with the game:

1.IMO by default those graphic filters should be turned off, I've done it during my second attempt and game looks MUCH cleaner without them.

2.It's not a big deal, but I feel that training mode should be available from the beginning instead of "buying" it from the shop - it's cheap, but it also has quite a lot of important stuff, I've figured out part of them before buying training, but still - some "newbie" in this genre could use this mode from the beginning.

Other than that - very good game, can't wait to finally beat the last boss.
