Someone have details on what is new in this version? The product page is lackluster.

The older version works fine on my computer.

GundamWingFan: Unpopular opinion: Achievements are unnecessary in games.

Do they actually unlock anything or is it just to show off.

I would much rather developers devote time to make a working complete game.
I agree. I don't give a crap about acheivements, most of which are pretty silly and meanngless to me.
But to be fair I don;t think they take much time away from core game development.

lord_mendes: I click on the link to the game's page - and what do I see?

Developer: Aspyr
Publisher: Aspyr

This is outrageous lying! The company "Aspyr" did not develop this game. The company "Beamdog" did not develop this game either. Making a couple of minor patches for the game does not give you the right to call yourselves the developers of the game. These games were created by "BioWare" and "Obsidian Entertainment."

Moreover, these so-called "Enhanced Editions" are yet another scam and a money grab. There is no point in buying these editions.
Uh Beamdog was bought by Aspyr.
And how about a case by case basis when it comes to Enhanced Eidtions. Some of them are useful because the original have problems on many modern systems.

This is indeed correct.

Agree.

Most Enhanced Editions are simply a way to try and coerce people to buy the game (again) and to try and move the modding community to a newer product by fracturing the player base (classic players and modders vs enhanced edition players and modders). IMHO that is who this is most meant to fleece -- the modding community.

I don't have any first-hand details, but I did hear a few players and after an hour of so in-game they were having trouble finding much of anything they considered "enhanced."

I would have -- at the very least -- expected a breakdown of specific "enhancements" on the store page... nope.

Makes me think this isn't much of an enhancement.

I agree with you, but I'm a sucker when they add full controller support for a game that never had it. But then again, they could have patched the original to support controllers. This remaster is not worth more than 10 bucks.

Dose the original have controller support, and I'm too dumb to know?

Edit: I already see mod adding controller support.

I assure you it's nothing so shady against the modding community, remasters or enhanced editions are simply... cheap, like really, that's it, while some studios go the extra mile restoring content, improving the engine and whatnot, for most it's just a matter of releasing a recognizable product that will bring in money

And Neverwinter nights 2 EE is the perfect example of this, mods are perfectly compatible with it because all Aspyr did was rescale the textures and some surface level changes

Well, while it is nice that(or if) Beamdog is not involved. I'm just gonna go to my shelf and grab the Physical edition, still no thanks.

Vainamoinen: Could somebody who bought the game confirm that the stand alone installers are uploaded and functioning?

if you mean this new nwn2EE game i have no clue as it doesn't interest me
