I'm quite sure about 18 of them. but 7 & 8 are odd.
EDIT:
It appears to have a very strong cultural dependence. I managed to figure out what Speed Stick is. Not what it is not. And to me, "R" is the last letter in "car". Nothing more.
What am I missing? :-(

This was fun, but I'm starting to feel a bit frustrated.

I thought 7 & 8 were easy.

But I'm still not certain on 1/10/12/13/14/19

[edit - and even after looking at puzzle #2 still don't really have a guess as to what to do with them next]

Ok, 10 was easy as soon as I googled it. But I'd tried to avoid that. ;) And I have a decent guess on 1/13. So 12/14/19 are where I'm stumped, plus the larger puzzle.

Yay, not in, but I think I have the gist of it.

It likely spells out a gift code, which I think are 20 characters long now. Also, this is not just a quiz - there's more to it than that...
I got 19 of them, but the speed stick question has me stumped. I guess you have to know something about the brand to get it, and I do not think it is sold here.

Frustration isn't the plan. Clearly, only work on it as long as it makes you happy.

If a couple of answers stand in your way for cultural or other reasons, feel free to ask anyone else working on the puzzle. There was a fair amount of collaboration on previous puzzles.

Yeah, that's more or less how the prior ones seem to have worked, but I'm not clear which words would convert to letters versus numbers, and a gift key would have both.

So if you've figured out the trick you're ahead of me ;)

You have some clever challenges in here. I would answer, check the number on the right and I would get a kick of being correct at the first or second guess. The 1 and 13 took some time, but I managed to solve them.
But once stuck, I see no secondary method to get unstuck (like we have with crosswords).

OK, maybe someone can help me out with a clue.

Speed Stick seems to be a brand of deodorant/antiperspirant. And "R" is the last letter in "car". It could also signify "Rolls-Royce", but that is too long. :-S

#14 was trivial to me. :-)
It's a very geeky computer related thing (but came about unexpected here). There is Star Treck vs Star Wars, Pepsi Vs Coca-Cola, and Emacs vs another popular visual editor. Nowadays few people use it, as it has been superseded by one of several improved clones.

I'm a bit unsure about #19, as I never saw a trick-or-treat. I don't think there are many tricks that fit the three letter restriction. So I'd guess its what you could expect to get when you say "go ahead. I choose 'trick'".

#12 I think is just a fancy word. I think Will Eisner used it to define "comics".

I believe:
1) Speed Stick isn't EXPENSIVE (http://hollybrooke.dreamwidth.org/229086.html)
2) R in car is REVERSE

I am pretty stuck when I try to convert the answers to letters/digits (too many possible combinations).

Oh, you Americans and your automatic gears! :-P
(We have an "R" on the stick, too. But we never look at it, and you hardly even notice the letter on it).

I trust that the final challenge does not depend on trying all possible combinations. :-/

Definitely 'reverse' for the car question.

I did try to google the emac one, but didn't see any obvious answers with only 2 letters in it. There are some simiilarities amongst some of the answers.

Curious if others think the answers to 1 & 13 start with 'w' and 'p' respectively. I do see some possible similarities in answers - an answer that starts with 'ver' and another with 'vir' and 8 & 15 are very close. But still not sure what to do with that info or if it's even relevant. 16 & 20 have a lot of letters in common.

Still puzzling.

All my cars have been manual.

But I often look down toward the gearshift when reaching for a donut or to admire the handgun I keep next to the handbrake. Unless, of course, I'm dialing my phone.

#19 is not related to trick-or-treat. Just google it.

Rules out my guess that it was hockey related.

Still a bit uncertain on 1/13, but otherwise I think I have them all now. Still working out what to do with them. ;)
I've figured out (I think) the relationship between the answers and the digits/letters, but still the code would not redeem, so I can only assume one (or more) of my answers is incorrect.

Assuming you have figured out the relationship, are there any answers you're not confident about that you might want a 2nd opinion on?
